MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

I get a lot of my game patches and demos through torrent/p2p. I'm downloading the open beta game Neverwinter (4Gb total) at a good consistent rate of 0.2kb/s so that should be finished by 2014, other game patch systems also work through peer-to-peer networks for example Age of Conan, World of Warcraft, EVE Online and a host of others. PlanetSide 2 patches at least once a week through their launcher working with p2p tech but I can't play due to the nature of the throttling on my 2MB UNCAPPED Mweb account. This is not acceptable. What am I paying you for?

Please advise where exactly you downloading from? Local or international

What server? It will help in assisting with you Game downloads issue.

If it helps at all. Do not download Neverwinter through the game installer they provide on the site. Rather use the torrent they provide and download the main game files through that. It was a lot faster for me. Then u just need to update it through the launcher, which u cannot do much about. Good luck :)

That's just it. I clicked on the torrent file but I get 0.2kb/s through my torrent client. It's obviously international it's peer-to-peer so I don't understand how you can ask me "What server?" as it would be irrelevant. What is relevant however is the shaping taking place on this account.

As I explained many game launchers make use of a torrent patching system and they are slow as hell.

Pings are bad once again.. Brother is complaining that his torrents are downloading at 0.1kb/s :(? His estimated time remaining is 22 days and 11 hours to download 200 mb :p Please help!

Has to be you guys, Telkom already confirmed that our line is stable and perfectly fine!

Don't deny it :D :)

Hi, tell me how are the other protocols behaving ?

Browsing email etc.

Unfortunately, we are not permitted to troubleshoot issues related to torrents, due to the nature of the content.

Youtube is pretty slow, browsing is okay except to international sites! Email is also pretty slow..

Hi Mweb Guy, quick question: my news server speeds dropped from about 100KB/s to 12KB/s during the day so eventually I restarted my modem and they're back to 100. Does one have to periodically restart the modem? Is the speed difference a modem issue or an mweb issue or shaping?

It is most likely related to our shaping.

When you see the slow speeds on the news server how is your browsing at that time ?
 
Browsing seems fine. I was just intrigued that restarting the modem seemed to rectify the speeds.

Haven't had one day without some kind of lag on twitch streams at any quality level. I really don't know what the issue is.

MWEB Guy,

Can you please explain to me how me and my roommates have absolutely horrible timeouts and downloads speeds with MWEB (premium uncapped) when downloading games from steam, but afrihost, on the exact same line, is flying? I left my PC on during the day and downloaded a whopping 500mb, in ~9hours. On top of that, I'm forced to use my afrihost when I want to play Diablo3, since I cannot for the life of me connect while on MWEB uncapped. Really see no more point in staying with MWEB
 
WTF is happening tonight? Even MyBB is struggling to load. Speedtest.net was fast at 40ms ping and later had 115ms ping???????????

Mweb is fast becoming a farce to not reckon with!
