That is a horrible measure of actual experience and hardly accounts for changes in speed patterns whether they are subtle or drastic. Especially because of differences in how a user uses internet week to week or month to month.

And your probable implication that in order to keep a user's usage "on par" with a happy medium the system might change shaping is annoying to say the least... but then again I have always been the paranoid type I suppose.... I can hardly be the only one thinking in this manner though. I can appreciate that older non tech savvy clients might be cowed by such a condescending reply but frankly I know too much about logic and IT in general to be fooled so easily.

Rant done. Nothing personal. I just get crabby when confronted by a company line and hope you yourself personally are at least smarter and generally more honorable than your obviously arrogant a-hole superiors.

That all said, thank you for your time, I'm going to bed and will see how the line behaves throughout tomorrow.
 
@Mweb Guy - is something wrong?? See a lot of issues on varouis sites regarding slow DL speeds and unstable connections - mine is also very bad for the last week and half, called the call centre but that was a waste of time - don't wanna jump ship but seems like Telkom is not having these issues, was just at my neighbours house and his internet is flying.

I can't do that dave...
The router I originally got from mweb is still locked. The firmware that you sometime last year said would unlock it... didn't unlock anything. Still only have that annoying little drop-down box, closest option is @dslmweb.co.za

Edit:Sorry that I'm a bit snarky, meaner than I should be these days.

We are not aware of anything issue with the news server. Have you rebooted the router yet? If not, please do so and let me know.

Also, gaming latency, just refresh which game you are playing please.
 
My news server experience is up and down but during the day I'm fine with that. It picked up to 120 odd at about 1am when normally at about midnight, I zap to full line speed.

The game is: Dungeons and Dragons Online ........ appreciate it.

Tried downloading a update from nvidia running at a whole 10KB/s, tried pulling a file off my server in JHB and it goes at 400KB/s?

It does the same actually slower 25kb. I did check the thing i am downloading is the latest Mythbusters and many ppl are downloading it so it cany be to old

Why is it that I can not remotely manage my sister-in-law's router with remote management enabled? All it does is redirect to the mweb home page. I have disabled protected access.
