Hi Mr Guy my address [email protected] did apply for the immigration to mweb but Telkom maintain dat I'm stil with them Isithebe exchange (NISE) 4mbps they granted me 1mbps but this year big issue dropping a lot now Telkom dropped to 384kbps 0.29 load upload 0.11

Evening, we have logged a fault with Telkom

Telkom has a standard 7 working day Service level agreement. We will continue to follow up with them.

These are legal downloads, so it shouldn't be affected in the same way as p2p.

Please do keep me informed though

Did a router restart and ran my IP changer bat but no still slow speed, don't know if their servers are just freakishly busy today but other http and ftp links download fine. Been downloading open source and freeware stuff all week and only from ms do I get such bad speed.

I think there have been problems with the Seacom cables lately. Some League of Legends players from the middle-east said that they were experiencing fluctuating ping and packet loss, and when sudden lag occurred, they were also having it.

Is Mweb throttling the news.mweb.co.za server...

I get around.....
105kb (or full speed) from after 00:00 to 06:00
25kb from 06:00 to 18:00
40kb to 50kb after 18:00 to 00:00

Not sure about the exact times... but that's what it looks like.

Good Afternoon

That sounds like shaping to me, you will notice that your speeds are decreased when the demand for high preference traffic is higher. From 6am to between 20:00 and 00:00 (this can vary).

Still slower than other sources today but I can get up to 60KBps at least. May be server load related then I suppose.

Afternoon, thanks for the feedback Rambo ;)

Much better than yesterday though...

Hi Mweb guy, we currently on the 1mb uncapped (unthrottled) package in our office and are looking to up it to the 2mb package. If i read correctly the 2mb (@R239 p/m) is throttled? If so would between 15 - 30gb's usage a month cause us to get throttled at any stage? Just working out if its worth jumping to the 2mb? Thanks.

Good Afternoon GTtronics, unfortunately I am not in a position to provide you throttling thresholds for the throttled accounts.

Hi there MWEB Guy,

Please note that I have sent you a PM. I'm looking for assistance in cancelling my MWEB account.

Can't seem to find info on your website how to do so.

Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

So some type of shaping is done even on the Premium Accounts even after business hours.

Evening, we have premium shaped account and premium unshaped accounts. If you are on a shaped package, you will be impacted on by shaping.

Anyone having issues with slow international. Have restarted PC and router already.
