Went ahead and phoned Tech and this time a reboot seems to have fixed it. Will monitor and provide feedback if it happens again.

Just freaks me out because like I said, last time I had 1mb for a week ...... the paranoia is strong :/

I received your PM yes and replied to you with detailed info and logged a line fault with Telkom because your line is only syncing on 544kb/s.

Please double check your PM box ;-)

I need some help. My line keeps getting intermittent high latency. Speed doesn't seem to be an issue as downloads continue fine, however, skype, online games, and website loading are all having issues.

I've tried rebooting the router and setting up QoS for gaming and skype, however neither has helped.

Same here gaming is getting impossible ping on international servers have doubled gone from 150 to 450

I have refreshed your account. Please allow for 30min to pass then reboot the router. I'm not picking up any intermittent connections form the router.

Have you perhaps tested the connection on a different browser or PC?

Are you downloading and doing all other things at the same time and what downloads are you referring to?

Have you asked Telkom to refresh the ADSL port?

Is there anything running in the background when you on Skype or Gaming?

From the tracert test you provided the 2nd hop is very high. This can be a possible cause of a congested exchange.

Have you asked Telkom to check if you on a congested exchange.

You can also do continuous tests during the day and week, which will help you paint a picture of when your exchange is busy.

Thanks, I'll reboot it now. I'll report back tomorrow if there's an improvement or not.

I'm sure that nothing else is downloading or uploading in the background (I have a network monitor).

I've never heard of refreshing the ADSL port, but if the problem continues, I'll call up Telkom and have them do that.

I am trying to update Origin, I am on 10mb line with 4mb uncapped and the best speed I can get on a bloody weekend is 130k/sec
Taking forever.


Local is downloading at 5mb
Come on is this what we get on intl. speeds?

MW guy thanks man still terrible, anyway to check with Telkom what is going on? I know if I call they will tell me its MWeb.
Seems the speeds locally are ok, well according to Speedtest but on intl. its beyond terrible
