Hi,

My ADSL is half the speed it should be, Telkom claim there is nothing wrong with the line, port etc, mweb telephonic support claim the same, but all speed tests show my connection is 1.30Mbps instead of 3.98Mbps as its been for the past 4 years??

Hi,

I have checked the account for you and everything seems in order.
As a test I have reauthed the account to see if makes any difference.
Please power down the router for about 10mins then test again. ;)

Could you please send me a trace test to one local and one internationl site.

Did a trace test to www.news24.co.za and www.sabc.co.za, all timeout.

Speedtest 2.43Mbps Down, 0.43Mbps up, this is to the Newlands server, I am in Lakeside (southern suburbs, Cape Town)

Redid the test

Hi,

Speedtest seems a bit faster, trace test still timing out. Something has changed as I have never had any issues with my line. The line is syncing at the correct speeds.

Early morning speed are about 3Mbps, then quickly slow down to about 2Mbps!

General browsing also seems slow, sites take longer to load.

Seems there is a major ADSL outage in the 016 (Vaalpark) area.

I have 10 meg uncapped account at you guys. The downloads and video speeds are fine but the games are unplayable. I get better performance out of a 1 meg line with normal cap than mweb cap. PLEASE FIX ASAP !
