There are no reported issues in the PTA area. Account and line seems fine.

Thanks, I asked my SO to run tracerts and pings. All seems in the clear, must be something with GW/Rift then.

speed tests (UK/US) also in the clear, I'll see what happens later on.

reboot sorted the gw/rift thing.

My PPoE Link is also down in Pretoria - 012 993 - Constantia Park
Line shows fine, but Router just says attempting to connect for the Last 3 days now...
- Have Rebooted 3 times everyday already and still nothing.

I checked the account and can see the dropped connections you are referring to. This is also reflecting on the tool provided by Telkom. I would suggest contacting them and have them investigate if it could be the line that could be the problem.

I am also struggling with dropped connections, although as far as I can tell on the router, I am connected to the ADSL, just not to MWEB...

Happened Just after I had gone to bed last night, which is a bit annoying as my torrents sat dead in the water the whole evening and I am trying to get something important.

Perhaps its the router. I'm open for any recommendations for a good new one.

There isn't a issue in the area. The account and line is fine as well.

I have re-authed the account, please power down the router for 30 minute and test again.

I checked the account and the sessions I see on the account is as follows:

The connection was active since the 08/09 and disconnected on the 14/09, then the connection was active for a short period today. Currently active since this time without dropping the session.

How often are you experiencing the dropped connections? It could be the router or it could be the line as well.

It's intermittent, as these things are. I commented a couple weeks back about it, as I'd already noticed an issue.

I've spoken to Telkom, and they, as always, say things are peachy, and reset the port.

What I am curious about though, is the fact that my router is synching, but I struggle to connect further than that. Does this suggest anything useful?

Also, when in these situations, I struggle to connect, big time - Have to reset the router about 5/6 times before it connects to you guys.

Agh, probably the router, I'm just loathe to spend money on something I'm not certain is the issue...

Anyway, I'll have to find (another) one to test.

Telkom are in the process of upgrading the up to 1Mb to up to 2Mb already. They have set aside 6 weeks for completion of this phase.

New Package:
ADSL Data Only 1Mbps R199
ADSL AI UC 2Mbps R599

The data component of your up to 1Mbps Uncapped ADSL product currently matches a 1Mbps ADSL line speed. Once your ADSL line speed has been upgraded to 2Mbps by Telkom, we recommend that you upgrade to MWEB's up to 2Mbps Uncapped ADSL Data + Line package for R599 per month. This will allow you to fully benefit from the increased ADSL line speed.

One thing I have to say is torrent speeds are epic, by far the best they've ever been. Very, very happy in that regard, thank you.

I'm inclined to think that you guys were well prepared for the upgrade. :)

Yeah, no idea what you guys have done with the torrent speeds (and coincidentally the few times I've ever grabbed a torrent on Mweb), and it runs at max speeds..... :D .... but keep it going :)
