Morning MWEB Guy!

Syncing at a much higher speed :D yay! but the account seems to be very slow, in speedtest only getting 1.2 ish ??? Whats going on!

Thanks in advance!

Oliver

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the info, I have logged this with our engineers to look into.
I will update you as soon as I receive any feedback.

Also only getting 50mbps on 1mb line. No replies to mails, pms and so forth. Thought Mweb would be a great step up for me from Cybersmart, but guess not. At least I got to speak to them on the phone when I called. Don't think I'll stay a client.

Hi freddiepretorius,

I'm sorry to see you feel that way but I did not receive any PM from you.
I know you posted in the thread earlier, along with many other clients and I have posted a general reply stating that I logged the matter to our engineers to look into.

Please see Will's post below, it was posted in another thread but here's some feedback on the matter.

Hi blogbytes and others.

We're definitely seeing an increase in customers with this sort of experience however the indicators do not point to performance issues on our own network. Our international links are in great shape and we are not under pressure on our IPC links - in fact the capacity on the Cape Town link was increased less than a week ago!

Last night I was on a VOIP chat with a colleague and while I was pinging 154ms to bbc.co.uk and getting a perfect speedtest result on my line 4mb line he was pinging 850ms and getting 512k speeds from his 2mb line.

As we are going through exactly the same MWEB routes the only difference between our experience comes down to Telkom exchange and backhaul factors.

blogbytes I understand your frustration, but I would ask that before you consider moving to another ISP please work with MWEB Guy and he'll do his best to determine the root cause of your problems and take the fight up on your behalf.

Thanks
Will

Hey

So nice of you to give me a pro rata upgrade only to give me one with a no pro rata on the downgrade. Guess it must add up to some bucks. Telkom does not do this they are pro rata upgrade and downgrade - and telkom are the bad guys. Will remember and the moment I feel I can switch to an other ISP I will - no loyalty here anymore.

Disgusting, shame on you.

Hi MrMrBroadBand

I'm sorry to see you feel that way howweve, I must say something doesn't sound right.
Can you please PM me your preferred email address, I'd like to have a recon of your account sent to you.
Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this for you.

Hi Mweb Guy,

Telkom just let me know that they have activated my ADSL line today, and that all thats left is that mweb gives me my internet details. Can you perhaps assist me?

Kind Regards

Hi MWEB Guy!

Wow! I am amazed to see something over 3mb... been such a long time :D :D

Thanks for the service!

Regarding to the line transfer, we are having stressful times lately.. so once everything is cleared up we will rethink about our decision!

Hi Persona1986

Do you have an account number that I could use to follow up on?
If so, please PM it to me and I will look into it for you.

No problem at all, just let me know when you're ready.

Seems our line was never on 1Meg with Mweb's AI 1Meg Uncapped ADSL.
Although they changed it on the ISP side, Telkom never Upgraded the Line.

Faerie Glen, that's Close to our Exchange 012 993 - Constantia Park

I'm just wondering with having Mweb All Inclusive Uncapped 1 Mbps
Where they manage the Telkom DSL Line, who must one phone to check if it will be upgraded or the progress ?

I know i Must contact Mweb Sales to Upgrade the Package to 2 Mbps, but only want to do this once the line has actually been upgraded.

As the Current Speed is 384 Kbps on the Telkom ADSL Checker http://www.telkom.co.za/checkadsl/
Max in the Area 4 Mbps
Router syncs at 1024 / 512

12-10-2012 03:21 PM
 Now only Telkom says our line is 1Meg...

Hey MWEB Guy

I'm still having issues on my line in Pretoria West:

It usually only goes to a crawl during business hours. After hours and weekends it's fine.
I dont think it's specific to MWEB as i have a connection to Telkom VPN Lite service, and traffic to this link is also really slow.

Could it be that the exchange's DSLAM is over-loaded in that area?
How do I go about resolving the issue?

Many thanks

Hi rm501

Send me your MWEB details and I will test your line.

Send me your MWEB details and a local and international trace route.

Why haven't your technical team replied to my email? Why do i have to resort to this forum?
Shoddy customer service, and on top of this im paying extra because my line speed is 2mb. This extra charge was NEVER highlighted by your call centre salesperson when i signed up earlier this year, but I have to live with it eh?
