Evening Bar_Rat, I cannot pick up anything wrong on your account or line at the moment. Lets see if connecting with a new IP makes any difference, please change your username realm to @dslmweb.co.za.

To be perfectly honest most downloads never reach full speed. Be it NNTP or torrent its hardly ever above 150kb/s anymore

400ms plus pings on M-Web Uncapped tonight in Cape Town... what a ton of fun... NOT!

Guess no BF3 for me tonight.

Evening Mean_Monster,

400ms is really high, is that your in game pings or ping of speeds test?

Good evening,

Right now my 1mb line averages around 80kB/s most of the time (http & https & streaming) :( Yesterday it used to be averaging around +100kB/s.

Is the speed issue I'm experiencing related to the following outage found on the Mweb Network status page? Sorry if I'm asking this stupid question.

Outage Num:13472
MWEB ADSL outage affecting ADSL All Inclusive Online Signups
Please note we are currently experiencing problems with the ADSL ALL Inclusive Online signups.

Still between 50-100kb/s. Really bad for a 4mb line.

Hi Bar Rat,

I'm also in Empangeni and I'm having the same problem.
During the day I don't even see above 50kb/s on my 4mb uncapped account.

The only remedy to this is to go ssl and force https on web pages.
Give it a try and see if it resolves your problem.

Evening, I have changed a setting on your account. Please let me know if this makes a difference once you reconnect with your MWEB account.

Only improvement is that instead of 30-50kbps on NNTP I am now getting 60kbps... Just 'a bit' annoyed that I had to buy capped data to finish off a download in time to get to watch it tonight instead of tomorrow night.

I should not have to use workarounds. Thanks for the info tho.

Torrents speeds are not guaranteed. HOwever have you tried an alternate download manager to see if it makes a difference with your download speeds?

Speeds should not be related to that outage, as the outage pertains to people signing up for the all inclusive account online.

In game ping and even just in battlelog it is that high and even on speedtest.net it is high... normal I have 8ms to our clan server in with M-Web in Cape Town

Please provide me your speed test results.

Hey there, For the passed two or so weeks, I have been experiencing problems in international Ping, especially in games such as Guild wars 2.

I have problems in some games and no problems in others, my pings to local and some servers are normal.

For instance I don't really lag but I see a lot of rubberbanding going on - where as friends from my area who have same type of Mweb account and speed have no problem at all.

It only started in the passed two weeks and seems to be worst at 8:00pm to 10:00pm. During the morning / afternoon / late night it is fine.

Friends with lower speeds even don't have the problem.

I have done speed tests and it mostly seems fine but not very stable - Sometimes being over 80ms than usual.

Kinda new to ADSL - but it never used to do it, and i don't know why it is now.

Download speed seems to be fine though and browsing - but gaming has been terrible (specially international wise).

Please help.
