My internet is so broken right now I could just about post this and still waiting for speedtest to load.
Hey MWEB Guy
Yesterday evening my internet went all funky and I started get 100 - 500 ms ping on local servers (normal is around 40). Youtube videos download at around 30 - 50 kbps (norm: 110 kbps). Finally most webpages don't load the first time I open them, only around 2 - 10 refreshes before they properly load. I have tried reseting my modem many times to see if it would resolve the problem but alas to no success. Do you know why this is happening MWEB Guy?
I cant log into my mweb account on their website. I have the password and email but its just not logging in... This is super frustrating since my mweb account is dropping every 5 mins... Its gone to seven different kinds of ****. Anyone else experiencing this?
I should add that everything is fine from using an Afrihost account.
Mweb account pumping this morning and surfing the internet is like searching my hard drive.
The drop in line speed perhaps ?
My company has been an mweb business client for almost two years now. Our setup was business uncapped adsl with static ip with our own mailserver. For a number of reasons we decided to change our isp and duly gave mweb the required notice. Our new setup is dynamic ip with the mail server at the isp. The problem arose on Thursday, when mweb , as expected, stopped our adsl service. This should not have been a problem since everything had been prepped at the new isp (new mailboxes created etc) and we were just waiting for the domain transfer. Simple right? ... Wrong.
On Thursday morning I started getting calls from clients that our mails were getting bounced and I investigated. An nslookup showed that our domain was still pointing to mweb's nameservers which was still pointing to the static ip we no longer had! This was not entirely unexpected as domain transfers can take up to 24 hours, however, on Friday morning, the problem was still there. I called mweb and (eventually) got through to the correct department who informed me that they had not received the notice of our cancellation and had rejected the transfer! After some investigation they managed to dig up the notice, and apologetically informed me that I had to ask my new isp to submit another domain transfer ticket. Expect another 24 hour delay! I immediately called the new isp who immediately submitted the ticket.
On Friday afternoon, just to make sure, I phoned Uniforum, who informed me there was no transfer ticket registered. It seems mweb had rejected the transfer again! I then personally submitted a transfer request to Uniforum. It is now Sunday (4 days with no mail service) and the domain has STILL not been transferred. The reason is unknown but the most likely cause is that mweb has still not accepted the transfer request.
I am desperate! any assistance whatsoever will be much appreciated.
