Guys, are you noticing speeds increase later at night? Are you only getting these speeds during the day?

All day anytime. My PS3 gaming experience was not this bad since the problems experience when you put in that London cr@p. Even my kids are complaining about their anime buffering.

Maybe its my line or modem again. :mad:

It's the entire day for me

Also just a note. The speeds are all the same on every account I have

Telkom capped
Afrihost capped
Mweb Uncapped

Mweb Guy did do something on my mweb account and such. And it has improved my speeds to around 70-80KB's from the awful 50's >_>. But with a lot of spikes. Im really doubting it's Mweb's side thats causing the speed issues that some of us are having.

Yet again problems.

Cant log into WoW or Steam,Hamachi wont connect, NNTP dead and torrents dead. Seems ill have to wait for 12am for my connection to be semi reasonable.

I too share the pain of every MWEB user out there... the interweb is broken. Can I get a refund?
 
Yup, that's the end of it. Good Bye MWEB you will never be missed.
I'm off to an ISP who can actually do something about problems.
 
Thanks for the information, I need to know if it is mainly affecting p2p speeds?

How is your overall experience, browsing, etc?

All over the show, for example I just tried buying prepaid electricity with Easypay and the browser could not connect to my meters. I tried a few times and as soon as I phoned my son to get some prepaid from Engen then suddenly the connection has gone through. Just played an online game via PS3. The lagging was notorious at best. Maybe Vox is an solution after all.

Torrents speeding along at between 1 and 12kB/s. Seems shaping is easing a bit. But it's all over the show.

General browsing is still fine. IOL opens fully in about 9 seconds. Supersport takes about 12 seconds.

Overall experience is beyond bad. It takes up to about 1.5mins for IOL to load up. International sites timeout when it takes to long.

VisualRoute shows a huge latency btn here and the UK.

Are we(MWEB) only using Seacom or is there an Alternate / backup route in case of congestion and/or high latency?
Do we work on preferred routes configured?
Are our AS peering links all good?

...or....maybe....just maybe....Obama has now bought the Interweb

I did a torrent DL last night and it died a horrible death. Then started a HTTP one using a Download Manager(Orbit Downloader). Started it at around 10PM and at 6AM this morning it was on 98%!!!???

HTTP Download was a 80MB file
 
Just activated my brand new Mweb uncapped account (1Mb).

Speedtest.net is very erratic tonight. But I get speeds from 1.2Mb to 0.20Kb/s. Wifi AP is not the best there is at the moment.

I have set up smokeping to ping a couple more servers, will make for some interesting stuff.
