I heard MWEB good for gaming (in CPT at least), not that I'm a gamer but like to dabble every now and then.

Yeah Mwebs good but I doubt they will be able to compete with VOX unless they "open" up the gaming ports to max line speed 24/7 and also prioritise PS3/Xbox traffic thus giving us a direct pipe so to speak at the same cost. ;) (I'm waiting for the announcement Mweb )

they already do that. gaming traffic gets priority even over port 80

I am having a what is spiralling into a huge problem with Mweb and Telkom. I am moving to a new property and decided to put my application in at Telkom to have the line moved on 1st of Nov 2012 (to be moved on the 1st of Dec, when I move).

Doing so I get told by Telkom that my line is apparently on 'wholesale' with Mweb, and they own my line, and they cannot do anything while my account is as such. I have not authorized this at all, for them to take over my line.

Now for the last week I have been bounced between Telkom and Mweb, each telling me to sort it it out with the other.

Mweb stands firm that I am not on wholesale.

Telkom stands firm that I am on Mweb wholesale.

I am utterly stuck now because neither can give me an answer, other than the above. Time is running out, and I wanted to put this line move application in soon as possible since it can take up to a month for Telkom to get around to it.

Seriously frustrated here and at wit's end. Any help would be appcreciated.

As always, impressed with quick help from Mweb Guy. Thanks again man! Getting problem sorted now.

Hey!

My phone line has been down ever since yesterday morning  Telkom sent me the following sms yesterday afternoon.

Following message sent to *********: This is a progress update from Telkom SA. Fault 11***081*** for Service ID 04****** is in-hand with our tech repair division. Please do not reply to this SMS

Today I haven't received a single update regarding my phone line today  I hate not knowing whether they are working on getting my line back up  #thirdworldproblems

Internet just went down again for 5 minutes. Really hope this is the last time -_- really frustrating when a download gets interrupted like this twice in one day...

I haven't been able to achieve more than 1mbit speeds (predominantly international) on my 4mbit line + uncapped account for a couple of weeks now. It's getting incredibly frustrating. Downloading files or trying to watch streaming videos is an exercise in frustration. My brother plays online games and the second I start doing anything on my side, his side suffers. This is really not acceptable.

Hi Tharaxis, send me your MWEB details and a trace route to a local and international site.

Well it's been over 24 hours now since my speeds were doing well again.

And Im happy to say they still are going strong again

http://i.imgur.com/qZbCu.png so yeah. +1 to Mweb

Mine was good for a few hours and that was it. Up and down like a YoYo. Even lost complete sync at one time, PS3 games gaming is a lag fest of note. Quiet a few times I disconnect from server and obviously get dropped out of the game. Only a few days to give Vox trial.

Would anyone know how a internet line could get bad Line Attenuation ?
I Had very good Line Attenuation for a long time, could even run 10000kbps,
But now it has dropped, and if I run at 6000kbps the lines drops quite frequent ?
I am now on 5000kbps and the line is stable.

Here is my info atm:
SNR Margin (Upstream): 13.3 db
SNR Margin (Downstream): 1.5 db
Line Attenuation (Upstream): 23.5 db
Line Attenuation (Downstream): 46.0 db

Any help would be great!
