Hi Mweb guy, the speed corrected itself a little later after the weekend since our last conversation but then near Thursday it had some more issues so I cancelled and went with another provider. P2P picked up though and were doing better than I have ever seen before. Still have mweb till the end of the month (thats if the notice to cancel went through yet, my father might decide to keep the acc for some unknown reason, he already has the other 8gig tho I added him too to my other provider in case). Thanks for the assistance though. Any idea what happened in the early hours of this morning though in general? I see the link on jinx traffic graphics just disappear.

Hi bradza, I am not aware of anything that happened in the early hours, I will investigate and see if I can find out anything.

Here's a link to JINX http://stats.jinx.net.za/showtotal.php notice the drops. Mweb went out too but not long though. Was around 12:15am and then it looks like again at around 3am, not sure if mweb went down too (@3amish) I just looked at the charts. Pretty interesting watching them. Thanks though.

Hi Refugees

Bad line attenuation can and mostly is the result of distance from the exchange. Your line readings are good.

Dropped connections can be the result of a faulty line, router, filter or to far from the exchange. If the distance is the issue and your line for e.g. is sync on 10MB, you'll need to drop the sync speed. Is the DSL cable plugged into a filter?

There are so many reasons I can think of but provide me with your MWEB account details and I'll investigate further.

How was your connection in your other country?:D

Hi

I am only about 5-15km from the exchange.
My ADSL Router does plug into a filter, and the router has been dropped onto the floor 1 or 2 times.
How could I test these ?

Thanks

Hi Mweb Guy. When I try to do a tracert, I get timeouts on everything but the first and last hops.

This could be due to a firewall, that the traceroute does not complete.

Thanks, found the problem. Here is a tracert when I had 300-400ms to EU servers. Usually I get 180-200.

Hi alternate

Please advise if you are only having issues with the Google play store DL and have you perhaps tried using a DL manager?

Send me your MWEB account details & I'll do some checks from my side.

Hi UglyBunny

Will do, just need your account details to proceed with your request. Also with out looking at your account, your 2nd hop at 869ms usually points to congestion on your exchange.
