Hi sybertiger

I responded to you PM, please have a look and let me know.

Im also having very slow MWEB speeds today...
Im in Germiston on my Mweb Uncapped 4Mb line.

Speedtest shows sub 1Mb speeds for download (but normal for upload and ping)
But on an actual download it downloads at like 30Kb/s :(

I've given up on just listening to a pure music video with no background graphics on Youtube at even a lowly 360p since it stutters

Hi Nyt Ryda

I wouldl ike to look into this from our side. Please PM me the MWEB email address or username in order to do so.

I'm having extremely slow speeds right now in Bryanston. I'm on 4MB uncapped, normally when I do a speed test I get < 30ms ping, 6mbps download and 0.6mbps upload. Right now, speed test won't even run, and I'm getting ping of 722ms! and download 0.26mbps and upload 0.1mbps.

I also have a couple of servers at M-Web datacenter - and it appears that even when I browse on those servers through remote desktop that the internet is pretty slow at the DC too...

Hi shakebake

I am not aware of any issues in the Bryanstone area, drop me a PM with your account details and I will look into this for you.

Hi there guys!

New to the Mweb forum as I'm currently with Openweb. However with them it seems like I'm having to always fix some problem or change my account every month just to simply access my email, never mind actually surf the web...Needless to say I'm considering changing over.

So my question to you guys is: How Mweb treating you (customer service, are you getting what you are paying for)? Would you recommend it to me (currently have a 2meg line so would be looking for a 2meg package, uncapped)?

Also my friend (who uses Mweb) recommended I get a trail account to check out what it's like.. Is that possible? If so who should I talk to about that.

Lastly, what's Mweb's policy on Throttling/Shaping. I've been told time and time again by Openweb that they never shape based on usage but rather server stress, however I've noticed that every time I change accounts the speed is what you would expect, but as soon as you download a gig or so that account slows down to a crawl (so I'm calling bs).

Thanks.

Shaping on MWEB is dependent on network load, which works just fine in my experience. Don't sit staring at your torrents at lunchtime, but examine your overall use.

That's without even trying.

Good Evening

Please send me your contact details via private message and I will have someone contact you to set-up the FREE 7 Day trial account.

I'm getting ridiculous lag and packet loss again.

You mentioned that it might be a congested exchange. Is there anything that can be done about it? It's pretty much unplayable lag at night.

It seems to come and go though. This time it only lasted 45 mins or so. Other times it lasts a bit longer.

Good Evening

Has the problem subsided?

If your exchange is congested, you need to verify this with Telkom. They are also the only ones that can assist with this.

downloads are better now 90+

browsing is just so slow pages take forever to load
and youtube still buffer every 5-8sec on 360p

I'm also having huge issues with my ADSL

Massive latency spikes, and also unable to stream Youtube videos probably.

I'm in the Pietermaritzburg area.

*EDIT*
In fact, as of 12:10AM 20 Nov I am unable to even browse properly.

Webpages take upwards of 1 - 2 minutes to even show, and sometime fail loading completely (Including the Mweb page).

I have already tried a different browser, and even had the port reset on my router. All to no avail.
