MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

@MWEB GUY, I am trying to find out how and to whom i must cancel my uncapped subscription on the website. Could you point me in the right direction? I am relocating mid december. thanks

My trial ends in two days and I have a couple of gripes about this account.

1. Download speeds
I haven't been able to max out my line yet. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to download the internet all at one, but I expect to get more than 50KBps HTTP download from sites like Microsoft and Nvidia / AMD. According to my DU meter logs I haven't hit faster than an average of 200BKps on NNTP (cached items included) per hour. I haven't really tested torrents so I can't comment on those.

2. Streaming
Here's an area that's pretty important to me and has failed dismally. I can't even stream 360p on YouTube. The average DL speed (according to that popup menu thing) is ~300kbps. Sites like twitch.tv / own3d.tv are the same.

The thing is I can't really compare this to anything (trying to get a trial account from another ISP at the moment) because well, Afrihost's performance pretty much sucks. My router stats are okay and my exchange isn't congested. Is there anything I am missing here or is this just how things are? I'd love to stay on this network because the latencies are pretty awesome, but I can't justify paying premium if the account isn't working 100%.

Trial ISP playing 720p with hardly any buffering.

Is it possible to get daily email reports on what my daily bandwidth usage is? I ask this as my wife and I are Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Vudu freaks!

I can't login to my mweb adsl centre as I lost my login details.

That's correct. As I said above, when I change ISP account it buffers fine.

Hi Lino

The usage we have on My Account is the Data usage, not the usage emails do per day. I would suggest getting a tool to monitor the usage for emails.

I have checked your line and MWEB account and it looks fine. I have refreshed the ADS port, so give it 30min then reboot router.

When I signed up in May the call centre asked for a email address that I would like to create with my new account. I gave them the one I preffered.
But I get emails destined for someone that has the same address as me...:wtf:
Can one change this?

It's still quite erratic.

Youtube: Can often not stream a 240p video.
Mybroadband: Tooka bout 5mins to navigate to this thread.
Other sites just keep timing out.

I need to know what is going on, if it's something specific to KZN routes, I need to know.

My line seems fine, sync is okay, pings are low, I can get full speeds from various sites but Youtube and some random others are utterly pathetic. Youtube is a big deal for me and many others.

Also noticed from Gmail, I can't download attachments faster than 140kb/s a lot of the time.

I am also potentially signing up 2 MWEB accounts tomorrow but I am not totally satisfied with the product for my own use, let alone to put my rep on the line for more.
