MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

SUPER IRRITATED, as our 4MB Line is running at less than 1MB (about 0.38MB) This is completely unacceptable! We have complained now for abt 3 weeks and nothing has been done. Mweb blame Telkom and no one wants to admit that they have a problem. I cant even browse a local website! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I am in Lakeside. Why wont someone just admit that they have a problem and get on with fixing it! That way we can get some closure and get on with our live's. I am tired of being diplomatic! What am I paying for?

Please provide me with your MWEB account details, tracert and speed test result and I'll investigate further.
 
I am also getting 1meg down on a 4meg uncapped, streaming buffers like mad, and everything is slow.
I know our exchange is congested, so I don't know if this is a Mweb problem.....

Congestion happens at the Telkom exchange. MWEB does not have control over congestion at the exchange.
 
Oh and I have screen shots of Speed results since August 2012 till today. In Aug I was getting - Ping- 18ms, Download Speed -2.53 and Upload Speed -0.53. I will keep taking screen shots and saving them. I am a Freelance Graphic Designer and I need the faster speed in order to send my clients work to them.
 
So the last few pages of this thread seem to be the same few people, mostly edge cases with bad lines complaining about speed/latency issues. I'm looking at biting the bullet and signing up with Mweb again after a long hiatus. Could any of the uncapped users who are medium to heavy downloaders - especially those who might be on 10mb uncapped - tell me how their accounts perform these days? How is general connectivity / downloading / streaming during the day and off peak? Anything you're unhappy about?

I have been an Mweb client since uncapped was introduced, been having fantastic speeds, been downloading about 150GB per month on average. Never had issues, it has been amazing the speed even during the day, but recently its been a terrible experience. Browsing is almost impossible, Steam has difficulty logging on, emails cannot be downloaded. The biggest problem I have is I am not too sure where the problems is, Telkom seem totally useless, but unfortunately we need to rely on them. I have logged a fault with Mweb and Telkom to try and speed things up, but nothing seems to have helped. Maybe Telkom are believers in the Mayan Calendar and that next Friday no one will be around to worry about ADSL.

The odd thing is, since I have logged the fault with Telkom, I have received 3 smses stating that the line has been fixed, and every case this is not true, even when you phone they claim its not been fixed, so as you can expect Telkom have no clue.

HI, Mweb Guy, Flowerdreamer is my wife, so you already have all our details. The issue is now affecting my wife's ability to send work to clients and visa versa. Xmas is always a busy period, and this is now costing us money. She used dropbox fto transfer data, normally not that large, but now we cannot even log on.

Have you tried another alternate ISP to verify it is not your line ?

I had a look into your account a found that the department who liaises with Telkom has provided you feedback yesterday with the open fault logged with them.

I will ask them to keep you updated.

yes, received the call, but never much information. Always the same story, someone will look into it. I don't know who someone is, but I think he has taken an early leave.
 
I can't log into the always on at OR Thambo. The guide says I should use my email address, but that doesn't work. Neither does my normal mweb log in. On my Samsung galaxy S3 now

Hi phoneJunky

You need to you use the MWEB email address and the password. Are you getting any error messages when trying to login?
 
No, just say that it is an invalid username or password. I can't log in in the mobile site of mweb either to check my mail, but i can log in. But as soon as I want to go to email it breaks and I need to log in again.
