This morning again, but after connecting to StrongVPN (works):

In my mind, this indicates that my traffic is being more than shaped and prioritized...

Hi WoDotNant?

Thank you for the test results. I will have our team look into it further.

My international speeds seem to be absolutely crawling today... :(

Hi Phenie

Is this with browsing or downloading? Please provide me with your MWEB account details and I'll do some checks.

Have you perhaps tried rebooting?

I can't play any youtube videos. The site takes about 10 minutes to load, or just doesn't load. Sometimes it opens a page but the video doesn't play.

Is anyone else having this problem?

All other sites work fine.

Thanks - just got a call from Mweb and while we were on the phone, we tested and it's working again. Seems there are tests being done to get to the bottom of the issue. Although it's working now, I anticipate it might break again before it's finally fixed.
Ta!

Just to add... skype is still messing around. Doing it right now.

Good morning MWEB Guy,

Last night I tried to log into EVE Online using my MWEB uncapped account and it is still giving me the same issue. When is this going to be resolved?

Hi XennoX

Please see PM I sent you.

Skype doing an update right now... wonder if they've found an issue. Updated to 6.1.59.129. I'll keep an eye on it. Skype's version system is a bos up. My colleagues are all on 6.1.0.129 and clicking 'help - update skype' returns 'You're on the latest version'. I'm sending them to www.skype.com to download the latest.

.
Same problem here . I thought the problem is with Skype .

Tested torrents. Getting 5 kB/s on my 4Mbps uncapped line. Also cant connect to a gamer server in the US. Logged in with another ISP 4Mbps test account, direct connection to game server and same torrent downloaded at 353kB/s.

How is that for shaping.

A dot is a shape too :P

In all seriousness, Skype issues here too. Can chat but no files or calls. Difficult to discuss work without calls or images!
It has been giving intermittent connection issues for a week now.

Checked Skype on windows 8, desktop and metro, android, ios and windows phone.

Torrents have also kicked the bucket in terms of that they aren't shaped but they don't even connect to the tracker anymore.

Getting massive latency issues to my first hop. Not a line issue as I have already tested with another ADSL account:

Hi Nookie

I received your PM, will be responding there.

I'm also getting very high latency on local gaming servers. Last night I had constant low ping, around 50 to 60ms, tonight its 350 average the whole time. Super annoying.

Monitoring with both Opera's built-in speed monitor and Resource Monitor, I'm not getting more than 10 KBps on my 1 Mbit uncapped account. Speed Test to Mweb Cape Town gets this:

2522552533.png

While to Telkom Cape Town I get this:

2522561706.png

Torrents peak at about 3 KB/s, FTP downloads at about 20 KB/s. If I swap to my 1 GB AfriHost account the speed jumps up to around 98 KB/s for everything.

Hi SerenePhoenix

Are you only experiencing this on gaming? How is your general browsing experience?

Hi Oj0

PM me the MWEB email address or username so that I can look at a few things on our side and provide you with feedback.

Hi Mwebguy, is there going to be an official disclosure/statement from mweb regarding torrent trackers, or is it a technical issue that will be resolved this month? It seems fine now (10pm, after a router restart), but I'm almost certain at 7am I will have to switch to afrihost backup to keep my torrents downloading.

Morning reactor_sa

We have not changed anything from our side that would have a negative impact on torrents. The shaping remains the same, where torrents gets low priority on shaped accounts.

You make mention of 7am, please note that business traffic receives priority during this time.

I would advise looking into our unshaped packages.
