And Afrihost have effectively raised their prices. Their 2Mbps line rental went down R130 (ie, that's what they save from Telkom), but their bundle only went down R100, for an effective price increase of R30. Similarly with their 4Mbps bundle, line rental went down R120, bundle price only went down R100, for an effective price increase of R20. At least it shouldn't be hard for Mweb to do better than that

Hey there i have been having weird ping spikes lately and it has not really been stable, its during different times on the day, like i am having the problem right now.

Here are two tracerts. (my ping to local is normally between 9-20)

Phoned MWeb now to upgrade my 1mb uncapped to 2mb uncapped.

If I upgrade to 2mb Premium Uncapped they can do it immediately @ R369 per month
If I upgrade to standard 2mb Uncapped they can only do it on the 1st of December @ R239 per month.

Standard is throttled. When I asked the guy what the speeds are after throtteling he said he will find out I must hold on.
Then after about 5 minutes of holding I got disconnected.

Does anyone know what the speed is afer throtteling? I'm not going to pay R369 per month for 2mb uncapped.

So, after being with AH for two months - I switched in twenty minutes to them in Sep 13 from MW 1mb uncapped (paying R200 and getting around avg 120 to 140 gbs p/m & throttled to around 70GB) to AH uncapped 1mb. Mid month, I did not like the shaping and switch up paying R297 for 1mb bus adsl.
So November has been a good test of the Bus adsl. Thats the background.

I came here say to MW - Suck it all night long, ram it down you lying throats - TWO TWO TWO B!TCHES and there's 4 full days left to go in the month.

I checked on our side and there are no reported issues in the area. Line seems fine as well. I re-authed the account as requested, but there could be underlying issues.

I had this product - 2mb premium uncapped.

Once you reach 200gb in a rolling 30day period, your line will be throttled down to a limp, worthless piece of copper wire....

Look at the thread called MWEB throttling on this forum, read it, weep, then find another ISP.
