Hi bakkies, short answer is yes.
if you unplug the extender then when you plug it in again then you have pair it again

thanks i tried pairing it next to the router but got no blue light just the flashing red one on the router.
do you have to plug in the wifi extender hold the wps button for a few seconds and it should pair after a few mins.

It seems like my TV was interfering with the signal.

The modem was standing behind the TV to be out of sight. It's now standing next to the TV. WPS light is on and the key light on the extender is also on.

Mmmmmmmm

Ok. While typing this message both lights died again.

Plasma TV by any chance?

Those are a nightmare for Routers and cause endless interference (and latency).

Best to move it away from there or if you must have it so close get Ferrite beads on all cables.

Hi bakkies, what you need to do is to press the WPS button on the router first then press the button on the extender.

I'm unthrottled but my usage is still on 65GB in the past 30 days. So actually I'm forced not to use my internet because I can get throttled any moment now.

It's been like this since Monday already.

So at last I actually figured out what the catch is. If you use too much data in a 30 day rolling period then you will be forced to use almost no data at all for the rest of your life because that amount won't come down again, except if you decide to switch your modem off for about 10 days.

Sounds like speculation. Maybe MWeb Guy can explain how to get out of the "hazard zone" with the least anxiety for Piesang?

Afternoon Piesang, the 30day rolling period: today's 30day usage will not include the usage for today.

It should include 29days for last month and 1 for this month. Tomorrow it will include none for last month and 30days for this month.

It will exclude the actual data moved on the last day of December tomorrow. It is based on actual data.

Also remember that the uploads are not taken into consideration and is included in the total reflected via my account (last 30 days data: total data moved).

When selecting the drop down and looking at the affected days, you will be able to calculate the download data only.

From the 30th of Dec to the 5 of January I used 1.4GB. So that means that my 65GB used data in 30 days will be 63.6GB on the 5th of February.

Only on the 10 of February I will be in a bit more of a clear with a 50GB used in 30 days. That is if I don't use any data from now until then.

Quick question:

Is there any difference between having your ADSL line with Telkom or MWEB except the price?

I just signed up for an Mweb R199 Uncapped ADSL account. The sign up page clearly indicates that I am signing up for 2 Mbps Uncapped ADSL at R199 Incl. VAT, and a Technicolor TG589Vn V3 VDSL router + Delivery Cost for free. After signing up, I contacted Mweb, and was informed that I (supposedly) did not order a router, even though there is no option on the page to not order a router.

My main issue though, is that Mweb bills me from the date I sign up, even though they know I will only get a router in 7-10 working days. This is rather sneaky business practice in my opinion. I also had to go to an Mweb retail outlet and ask them before I found out about the 7-10 working day shipping policy, this was listed nowhere on the sign-up page.

3 hours in, I'm not a happy Mweb customer. Hopefully things change once I'm able to use Mweb internet.
