MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

As bad as the 5kB/s shaping from Afrihost atm? :P
Eh? It is daytime during the working week after all. Was running at 220+ this morning (on 2mbps line).

I don't care as long as I have an uncapped, shaped service - which is EXACTLY what I signed up with AH for.*

* Still waiting to see if MWeb will see the light, even if eventually, and ditch their throttling policy :whistle:
 
Him are there any known problems with the MWEB News Server? It has been standing still since some time yesterday on my side, everything else seems to be working fine.

Hi Superjakes, we are not experiencing any issues with our news server.
 
I just switched over to MWEB from OW and everything is great, but.... I can not sent mail I can only received mail when I am on mweb, anyone got so advice?

I work from home and need to switch to my backup account to mail out :(


Hi Fayera, in order to send mail using an MWEB connection.

User the server smtp.mweb.co.za and port 587.
 
newserver dog slow for last 2 weeks and when not slow its dead...what gives?
Also i applied for the free upgrade to 2mb line 2 weeks ago and still nothing...wtf gives?
still paying R199 for a 1mb and i been loyal for 2 years now or more, why i had to even apply is beyond me, just upgrade my account already.

Since yesterday afternoon. Starts off normal for a few secs then just dies and crawls. Can you look into this please MWEB Guy?

I have had a look into your account and line and it looks good to me.

Provide me with a trace rote to a local and international site.
 
I also have the problem where my line is fine for a minute or so after restarting my router, and then the line just comes to a crawl.
3000ms+ response on a tracert saix.net. I dont know if this is a congested exchange or an MWEB issue anymore.

I saw Telkom doing work at the main exchange in Brackenfell yesterday.

Hi Mweb Guy,

Lost ADSL connection soetime yesterday on my ADSL line. Phone is still working so most probably no a line fault but a port fault.
Phoned Mweb and they logged a Telkom call (ref number 263ATK180314) according to your call centre the call is open on Telkom website the fault number show closed.

Second day I had to use Cell phone data to connect with no idea of what the problem is or time frame for resolution of the fault.

What speed would a 6Mb uncapped account get throttled to after the approximate data threshold has been reached?

IIRC either 256Kbps/384Kbps, can't find it now.
