@SirFooK'nG:
Expand Origin with Netlimiter and have a look at how many connections it has open. If it uses only a single connection to an international server, then you won't get more than 2Mbps.

With a latency of 250ms, your maximum download speed ~= <number of connections> * 2Mbps
unless you go and change your maximum TCP window size from 64kB to something else.

Update:
The formula: TCP-Window-Size-in-bits / Latency-in-seconds = Bits-per-second-throughput
Source

Speedtest.net does use multiple connections to calculate your speed. Like on my 4Mbps connection it used 2-4 connections when testing to UK/US.

Yet still Origin going half my line speed.
MWEB%20Origin%2024-08-2013.png

Think it is origin as a few friends and myself have been having issues downloading from them.
Steam is quick, my ps3 downloads full speed, come to origin it dies down to a crawl

Also having issues with origin, it's a **** service compared to steam. Downloads sometimes get to 97%, stall, restart at 86%. Reminds me why I never actually play any of my origin games anyway.

Left my Origin updating all of last night, ... it has now completely died :( after 3.5gb of the last update (End Game). Going to try restart Origin to see if it will continue the update.

There are plenty of open connections on the download servers...

Origin%20IPs%2025-08-2013.png

EDIT:Ahh ... but wait, it eventually goes down to just 4 connections on 8.27.0.254:80

EDIT 2: It changes the server all the time but never more than 4 open connections at one time are downloading.

EDIT3: Ok so there are a lot of Origin users with this issue... I have mailed them for support as per their post here.

Kindly provide us these limits. You keep on saying keep withing the limits, but you forget to give us the limits.

If you need an example this might help:

134GB at 1Mbps (throttled to 512kbps thereafter)
268GB at 2Mbps (throttled to 1Mbps thereafter)
671GB at 5Mbps (throttled to 2.5Mbps thereafter)
1,324GB at 10Mbps (throttled to 5Mbps thereafter)

ISPs that had rolling windows with clear limits: (Of course there is others who also had their limits clarified...)

Some of those "1.5TB" abusers:

IMHO I agree with DJ... and mweb should be boycotted as much as possible. They much like Microsoft with the xbox one wants you to just stomach it because it is good for you.

Mweb Guy,

Did you guys do anything to my 1Bbps account overnight, or have all the abusers left?

Results:
Download Speed: 980 kbps (122.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 435 kbps (54.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Mweb guy - you got PM - need some help with downgrade and cancellations - hopefully you can help! Or am I on my own here guys?
