MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Hi MWEB Guy,

Just an update from my side. Telkom has been working on the cable for about 2 hours. The Technician just phoned me and said he found "a little" problem on the cable and made some repairs. Latency is now 20ms so we will see how it goes.

Thanks for the update

Send me a PM with your MWEB details and I will escalate to our specialists

I take it MWEB Guy has changed shifts.

Please see post #4896 in this thread.

Hi MWEB Guy,

I have been struggling with my connection for three weeks now due to latency problems. Apparently this is due to a line problem on Telkom's side... My reference which is still open: 1521844

My R599 MWEB subscription went off my bank yesterday without a glitch and all I can do for the last couple of weeks is test my speed. Oh the irony!

Surely MWEB will give you a credit?

I am with a different ISP, (but dont wish to disclose that its Afrihost) and when I had a similar latency issue, they gave me a month free (except the line rental). ;)

That aside, why should the customer be the only one feeling the pain?

Good Evening

Please provide me comparative speed test readings using the Telkom guest account, when the issue occurs.

Also ensure that you do all speed tests using saix.net

username: guest@telkomadsl
password: guest

You should only be able to access saix.net with the details provided. These details should be entered on your router in place of the MWEB details.

You would also need to know your MWEB account username and password for after you complete the test.

I did that previously, also with an @tiscali account, given to me by MWEB to test while we were on the phone. Same terrible latency results. All speed tests are done on saix.net.

So you are saying that you have the same problem, even when using the Telkom guest account.

There is still a line fault open for you.

Telkom advised that the Tech repaired the V-Side cable, however your problem seems to persist.

I am adding your speed test results to the open escalation we have for you.

I was phoned just after 3pm today from MWEB, forgot the persons name, to find out if I still have issues with my latency. As I told him, my connection was fine since Saturday morning about 11am up until I went to work at 6am this morning. Telkom did work on the line on Saturday early morning for 2 hours, according to him they also fixed something on Sunday. He will phone me again tomorrow, then I can give him the good news what happened tonight.

Yes, Telkom guest and tiscally. Just because I can, some more results just taken:
