Surely MWEB will give you a credit?

I am with a different ISP, (but dont wish to disclose that its Afrihost) and when I had a similar latency issue, they gave me a month free (except the line rental). ;)

That aside, why should the customer be the only one feeling the pain?

Hi TEXTILE GUY,

I hear you. The problem is that I start with my online job at 6pm in the evenings after finishing with my day job every day. At this stage I am focusing on saving my online job, which by the look of things seems a faint possibility.

Now if they could credit me for say, 5 years, with my online income, who needs the internet :p

Mweb Guy, Please explain this to me.

I though latency on an Mweb account to an Mweb server would be better than from a Non-Mweb account to an Mweb Server.
Something is very wrong here on the Mweb network??

I used the exact same ADSL line and router using both an Mweb Capped Account and an Afrihost Capped Account.

Hi

I'm not aware of any issues at the moment with the network.
I checked on my side and everything seems ok and there are no notices posted.
Please let me know if your experience is still the same and I will arrange a call for you with one of our specialist to check it out.

It has always been like this, Mweb accounts give higher latency to Mweb Services (On-Net) where as non-Mweb accounts give lower latency to Mweb Services (Off-Net).

Which in my mind does not make sense.... It should be the other way around, should it not?

Thanks for the results and I will update the log with the latest results.

Thanks.

Apparently Telkom tested my line at 11am today and called my home afterwards. They said that there is nothing wrong on my line but will send a Techie to check my equipment (Telkom plugs) AGAIN. They never came, up to now, frankly I would not either as they have been checked numerous times.

Never received that callback from MWEB either, might be due to my updates here....

My latency was crap since my last post last night, up to

Does anyone know where the problem lies?

I used the exact same ADSL line and router using both an Mweb Capped Account and an Afrihost Capped Account.

Say what  When I phoned Afrihost last week, they said I cannot take out a subscription while MWEB has control of my ADSL line.

My lines are with Afrihost.... It is possible. Do an online sign up.....

Trying to do my own fault diagnostic, and willing to pay for it. Figure if my connection holds with Afrihost, the problem lies with MWEB and if not, Telkom is to blame.

Hi siocnarf

I checked your account and our team who liaises with Telkom has made the escalation a high priority with Telkom.

They are in constant communication with them but I will ask that they also update you.

Internet is veeeeeeeery slow. What is wrong?

Thank you, but as I said earlier. Telkom did phone today and said nothing wrong with the line, then they repair something on the line then nothing is wrong with the line. Groundhog day for me every day, very confusing.

Been going back and forth between my MWEB account and the Telkom guest account. Since the first repair on my line the Telkom guest account gives immediate good results every time, latency never over the mid twenties, does that not make it an MWEB fault. Or do I understand this wrong?

Hi

I just checked the account and the line, both seem ok from what I can see.
Please let me know if you are still experiencing slow speeds on your connection and what sort of speeds you're getting.
If so, also do a comparative speed test with the Telkom guest account to compare speeds.
