MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Cape Town,
Cannot access Mybroadband or Google.

Sending from my CellC 3g. Problem exists on all devices connecting through my mweb DSL.

Tried to ping google.com and mybroadband, which failed, but bbc.com works.

what the hell is up with browsing ..... cannot load like 90% of sites, local or international.


Lasted about an hour - couldn't access Mweb page either. Seems a bit of issues building up again.

It's not just you, my home DSL line is choking currently on anything google related. Had to hop on 3G to post this.

Something very wierd going on.
I can ping www.mweb.co.za, but not google.co.za.

Can't ping www.mybroadband.co.za either.

Edit: Hilariously, Youtube works fine once the browser stops trying to contact external services.

I had about 5 disconnects/drops in the last 20 minutes!

Hi Demeter

I checked your MWEB account and can't find any issues on it. There are few Telkom outages in JHB but none in your area.

Have you perhaps tried lowering your sync speed to see if that helps keep a stable connection or asked Telkom to look into the line?

I see your connection has now been stable since 19h45

Please provide me the complete netstat results as request via direct message.

The Telkom account does not allow for any internet connections or traffic running in the back ground.

We therefore require the complete netstat results.

MWEB Webmail is the worst thing in the world. I've used various forms of Webmail from hosting providers, gmail, yahoo and MWEB. MWEB has periodic issues logging in. And it's slow. On an MWEB account it will often load the "Basic " version. On a 4Mbit connection?

Biggest problem is that I'm unable to log in. This happens about every 2-3 weeks. The signmein process goes into an endless loop.

Why is it that this ONLY happens with MWEB? It happens with no-one else? MWEB what the heck is wrong with your email???
