MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

My download has been rather iffy today. Keeps jumping up and down and some pages taking very long times to load. But judging by the lack of posts about this.. Seems it may only be me :<

Are Mweb shaping certain across protocols? Got great speeds on speedtest, and youtube cruising, but other protocols are timing out...

I'm picking up the exact same thing from yesterday, speeds are awesome but other protocols are slow as .... this seems to be happening at so called peak times, i saw it pick up after midnight yesterday and back again today its slow well not even slow there's nothing happening at all. I thought shaping was suppose to happen during peak times i.e. does weekends imply peak. I'm in the Fourways area and on a 4mb premium uncapped.

Hi guys,

Which protocols are you referring to?

When DiData acquire MWEB's network. What will happen to the consumer MWEB ADSL packages, will we be "routed" through IS? I know I'm not using the correct terminology, but I hope you can understand. MWEB had their own network/datacentre before, will this still be the case?

HI X-Gamer, everything on the home account will be working in exactly the same way as it is now.

Nothing is changing for consumer MWEB ADSL users, if I am not mistaken.

Nothing in terms of billing and end user interface will change, yes. But if and when the deal does take place, Mweb's network will belong to IS? Hence, our connections will be through IS?

Hi All,

How is the Mweb premium package (I'm looking at the 4Mb option)? How is the twitch streaming (very important)? I'm currently moving away from Afrihost Business and I'm looking for a decent uncapped option. I do about 250GB - 300GB p/m. Will the Premium uncapped account be OK for this?

Heavy port shaping suddenly happening constantly

I've also started experiencing this all of a sudden in the last week or so.

On Saturday I logged a call with MWeb technical and they've called me back and tried a few things but so far still the same issue.

I'm on a Premium 4 Mbps account and the status is unthrottled. Normal downloads, YouTube etc. are all perfect but Port 563 SSL is getting shaped to death.

At the moment I'm lucky if I'm seeing 35 Kbps for 6 out of every 24 hours.

Even more interesting is the fact that I have a mate in Joburg and 1 mate in Durban who have confirmed the exact same issue on their connections, so this is not specific to my account or to my area, it's network / country wide.

I can understand some shaping during peak hours etc, but this really is ridiculous.

Like I said, MWeb Technical are trying to help me, but they appear to have NO clue as to what's causing this and so far nothing they've done has made any difference.

Pardon my French and my shouting, BUT WTF IS THIS SHEET NOW. The day after I close the ticket, I get 0.7 download on my 10Mbps line at 11 PM. I am now GATVOL. Cant even fahrking browse. Expect a cancellation next week.

Tried again, see mail sent to [email protected]. Clueless, I give up with u guts, Seriously disappointed. Last few months service has gone down faster than a cheap hooker.
