MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

I generally have one or the other running, never the same time. Latency when gaming is usually around 200-220ms, shot up to 700+ since yesterday.
Seems erratic though.

Thanks for clarifying. I've recreated the port and re-auth'd your account. Please switch your router off for 3-5 minutes and test.

@mweb

How is the new ASSIA system from telkom working out for you guys?

Morning Manemarak, the product has only recently been launched.

We should have some more information in a few months for you though ;)

Nope. Gaming seems better, torrents only giving me around 14kB/s on my 2mb Premium account. Even normal browsing now seems sluggish.

Hi srothman

Torrents and any service such as it receives the lowest priority and if you running DL in the background & trying to browse is going to give a degraded service.

Is there a seacom problem? Cause youtube has been *** since last week.

Hi JIMMYtheSKULL

We always inform our customers if there is a Seacom problem and if there is going to be maintenance. There is no Seacom outage currently.

A Youtube issue won't necessarily point to a Seacom outage but might just be PC, ADSL line etc

I take it you have checked the status of your account in My Account: www.mweb.co.za ?

Please PM me your MWEB email address.

Ok this is SERIOUSLY getting annoying... MWEB Guy please could you look into this. I cannot stand this slow speed anymore.

This is now my average usage on EVERYTHING. Downloading files on http(s), Steam, torrents. youtube.. You name it. Everything is crawling. yet my telkom account flies at 4Mbits no problem what so ever.

My account doesn't show as throttled. But after a few days from the upgrade back to my 4Mbit premium uncapped package, the speed has deteriorated.

Morning Grimster101, I checked your account and the usage for the last 3 days is very high and not reflecting a slow connection.

Please refer to My account to view your usage.

Your account is not being throttled at the moment.

Hi there. I've checked the usage. However as stated, I am not getting full speed. I know speed is a best effort service and all. But if my Telkom account can max out at 400KB here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/download/ among other similar sites, but Mweb can't even keep a stable 150KB.. Then I do think there is something wrong.

Checked my steam speeds just now. Downloads are fine. But Steam Broadcasts are always laggy and stutter/download slow just like the http downloads. They only ever seem to be downloading at an average of 100KB's where as before I could get an average of 300-400. I have tried multiple broadcasts. I can only assume it is on your end in some way if my telkom account works fine as well as my free Afrihost 1GB account..

HI

Same problem here

Mweb uncapped 4mb (not premium) the most i've ever dloaded is 112gb a month for the last year.

This month stands at 32gb. My torrents download at 1-2kb max 32 kb. After 7 at night,
they do not move at all.

This morning I was trying to download gimp with utorrent.

Mweb was going at 18kb for over an hour. In desperation I switched to my 1gb free account
with afrihost and it immediately shot up to 412 kb and finished in a jiffy.

O.o..

Note: Speedtest.net report normal pings/responses, ect, as does the mweb speed test itself.

Sometimes the net gets so slow that gmail does not open (on separate machines) although my ping in LOL/ DOTA 2 is mostly constant. Putty struggles to keep active telnet connections.

So, on to attempted cancelling.
----------------------------

At Mweb, I saw there is an option to cancel my adsl under the my products on account. Great!

I click it aaaand... Wait a minute ...

One Time PIN

One Time PIN:

Alright. A pin. To a weird suspiciously foreign looking cell phone number i've never seen before in my life.

Not your number shows The cellphone number you have registered is: 27843301394

Alrightly

Let me check my account details to see if somehow we registered a mysterious number which our OTP gets sent to:

Nope. our normal cellphone number stands in all spaces.

Alrighty

let me chance the One Time Pin cell phone number under a separate option block at the top, not under personal info.

I understand that you would like to obtain full line speeds.

The services or traffic you would like obtain lines speeds on, are not priority traffic.

These services are shaped.

If you download overnight and do not speed watch, I'm sure you would still be moving more than decent amounts of data.
