MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Hi rulerofiron99

As mentioned to you on your FB profile, you on the 2MB Standard package. You mentioned you are a gamer, the Standard package was not designed for this. It is for the basic user who browse & email.

Please see product description: http://www.mweb.co.za/productspricing/2/Home/adsl/UncappedAdsl.aspx

I also provide you with the steps on how to sign in on My Account.

I did send you a PM, but whatever.

When I go to the Upgrade page from My Account, it won't accept any email/passwords I give it. Furthermore, when I try to change my password, I am unable to enter my current password because it's 9 characters long and the field cuts out at 8.

I would like to revert back to the 1mb premium - is it possible without having to wait until 1 December?

PS: The standard 2mb specs has this:
Shaping is aimed at traffic classes as a whole whereas throttling is aimed at specific users who generate above average usage. A shaped service gives priority to normal web browsing, email, online banking, social networking services & online gaming.

To be honest, it seems to me that all of your non-business MWEB packages are DESIGNED for the users who browse & email. On the contrary, Openweb & Afrihost home packages are designed for the users to do what ever they want on the Internet.

Sorry to say this but your new CEO sucks ball when compared to Rudi who left MWEB last year. Rudi would never have allowed this crap that is call Derek's AUP to be implemented ever if he were still in the office today.

You can change the password to 9 characters, you will need to only put the first 8 characters on the router settings.

Regarding reverting back to the previous package, I will check with our team and get back to you.

So it's not just me right? Both local and international giving me grief for the past hour or so.

Holy ****, :wtf: a 2mbps package designed for browing the internet and reading emails - Seriously do you actually read what you are writing. A 2mbps package is for gaming, why else would you be paying for this kind of speed. So a web page can open faster than on a 1mbps line? Seriously you are just joking because if you are serious Mweb is so stuffed-up you should switch to moble permanantly and leave ADSL to the big boys lol

It was running quite fine until I got throttled. I mainly play Dota 2, without lag.

MWEB used to be a big boy.

No reply from The big boss Mweb Guy?

No, doesn't need to sell insurance ... selling 2 and 4 meg packages for browsing and reading e-mails is a much better grudge purchase to bigger fools and is waaaay more profitable....

FFS, WHY would anyone who WORKS for their money want to pay for such a cr,p experience as what MWEB offers??? They are ACTIVELY trying to keep you OFF the net !!:wtf:

It seems that mweb wasn't designed for internet usage at all.....

Greetings All,
And so, I also, as many of you, got throttled on 31th of October, and still is.
At that moment traffic usage was 125 or so GB, now its about 129GB.
From what I understand, I need to get to below 100GB bracket to get full speed again.
As it is, its not going to happen anytime soon, I presume.
Now, question - what was the longest time (days, weeks, months(?)) you were throttled for?

You have to do just over 3gb a day for it to drop and not go higher, presuming there are lots of subscribers out there who manage that.

Evening Kenny

We implemented a tool on My Account that shows you what the usage for the last 30 days is. Bear in mind, the limiting is based on a 30 day rolling window period.

This will show you if the account is throttled or not as well. That will give you an idea of how to manage the account effectively.

I think he knows this already.
