MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Upgrade to Afrihost/Openweb and your happiness will be boundless and bountiful.

I may not sing their praises anymore but 98% of the time, I'm still ok with my Mweb account ...... dunno what they did but my account has been a breeze for a while now apart from the odd hiccup. I'm lazy until I get messed around, then I just move my wallet.

@MWEB Guy

Please let me know your position on bypassing shaping imposed by MWEB by using a VPN

Afternoon, this is not allowed.

VPN is meant for business specific traffic and not to move downloads (e.g. torrent traffic, nntp)

and how are you going about identifying the people using VPN to bypass shaping protocols?

what are you doing to stop these offenders?

We have measures in place to detect this and I am not at liberty to give you that sorts of information.

MWEB Guy when do you think you guys will be able to announce if we will be getting free line upgrades or MWEB going to be MWEB once again and charge their clients for this?

Hi Guji, our products team is working hard on products packages since the announcement of the Telkom upgrades.

Once they have completed the packages we will surely inform all our customers via the different platforms.

Doesn't work very well - you sent me a mail claiming I was doing something similar when in fact I had done nothing of the sort. I believe a responded to MWEB on this and didn't so much as get a sorry or FU back ..... So indeed keep the method to yourself....

Hi Malooga

Please provide me with your MWEB email address and I'll do some further checks.

From the readings it looks like a possible congestion issue. Please see following link for more insight: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/adsl/82251-how-to-test-for-adsl-exchange-congestion.html

Hi KRayn3r

If there is an outage then there will be no connectivity at all. The traffic og the outage area is also not re-direct to a different exchange.

Please provide me with the Business account details and I'll have a Premier department make contact with you.

Our account name is [email protected]
