MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Well, I'm happy that you've found an ISP that pays for a 2Mbps line when you only pay the Telkom fee for 1Mbps :)

Good Day Madaboutbullterriers, please note that you are paying us for a 1MB all inclusive product.

Therefore if you moved to us with a 2MB line, the line speed would have been adjusted. otherwise we would be incurring the difference in cost.

Sorry that you feel this is enough to cancel your product.

The point is I wanted to upgrade to a 4meg (when the line speed increases came form telkom) product but unfortunately as my line was downgraded from a 2meg line to a 1meg line I will only get a free upgrade back to 2meg & then most probably if I stayed on the 1meg product I would have been downgraded again back to a 1meg line - This is not the only reason I am cancelling it is just the last straw!! & When I was with afrihost I was on a 1meg package with a 2 meg line so I really don't understand!!

Not to stir the pot, but I thought this thread was for support with ISP related issues. Please stop being bitter and go back to Afrihost. That's all.

At least he is giving feedback, which is this thread is for. I'd much rather get rid of those "OMG MWEB SUCKS" spammers. They literally do nothing here but complain about an ISP they don't even use...

I am not a spammer!!!!! I am still an mweb client at least till the end of the year - I just don't like being duped & also don't like things being done behind my back all it would have taken was a friendly e-mail or telephone call saying I see your telkom line is running at 2meg as you are on a 1meg product we will have to drop your line speed back to that - Now if I called mweb & said I would like to go up to a 2meg product how would they increase my speed back to 2meg? & if I move my line back to telkom will it go back to 2meg or do I have to pay telkom to upgrade it?

Calm down :)

Do this calming down thing and then just realize you are paying for an all inclusive package. Like when you go out tonight and pay for a 500ml draught and a 500g T-bone steak, for R75. if you buy the steak and draught seperately, it is R80, if you want a 1 liter draught and a 500g steak, you gotta get the draught and steak seperately, not as a part of the 500ml draught + a 500g steak combo.

Just move the line back to Telkom, to a 2Mbps line speed, and then they will upgrade it for free, if they did not already do so in your area, to 4Mbps. Just know that then you will have a 4Mbps line, with a 1 Mbps data package. That is like 8 x 500ml draughts and a 1kg steak.

Just a thought - has MWEB started shaping news server traffic? That could explain what is happening. It was all good through the night, but downloads are close to non-existing today. Could you please confirm, MWEB Guy?

same with mine : /

Not many people were phased by this post. You sir, are awesome :D

Nope - its to talk to MWEB. IMHO the guy is allowed to be bitter. That aside his comment is as important as anyone else's.

Not going to happen .... But glad to see I made an impact.

Oh don't worry we are giving feedback, feedback to potential victims to make sure they are informed of mweb's practices.

Hi

I just checked on my side and it does seem like it is a bit problematic at the moment.
Our engineers are aware of the issue and are attending to it.

Well, it's in part thanks to you spammers that I've decided to sign up with Mweb - so your campaign of spam and abuse has had the opposite of your intended effect :)

I really, really wonder what all of these people are gonna do when they finally experience South Africas other ISPs...
Yougottabekidding, right?

In fact, I for one, migrated to MWeb from another ISP as I was offered the uncapped (shaped, never throttled - take note) package.

What happened? I got capped AND throttled AND accused of circumventing their shaping policy. Also note that this change in policy was implemented without me (nor other users) being informed about it at all, never mind in advance - even in retrospect might have been OK, with an apology of course.

All response anyone gets from MWeb's side is: Refer to our AUP! They obviously haven't heard of the concept called Customer Service, nor another concept called Integrity!

Now that I am back at my old ISP I am having the internet experience I got before MWeb changed their policy. With the added bonus that there are no hiccups in service delivery, as I see many current MWeb customers are experiencing currently!

Yes, I still have an e-mail account with MWeb (for the time being) so I will still be active in this thread for a considerable time, laughing up my sleeveout loud at the egg on MWeb's face!

ROTFLMAO!

You're welcome!

It appears you are EXACTLY the type of customer MWeb is counting on to survive!
