Mmm. That does not sound good at all. Ok so do I go back to Premium or is it best to get Afrihost Uncapped instead? They don't seem to moan about heavy downloaders.
If I do move to another ISP will they handle the request to move my ADSL rental because currently it is with Mweb?

I'm with afrihost business and its great, the home accounts are also good but you may get shaped at times, although browsing is always excellent. As for the line I dunno, you may have to move it to telkom first.

Eish... Just moved the line to Mweb after 3 years. I have asked Afrihost about the move and if they can do it for me.

zOMG... Just bought an Afrihost uncapped account and it flies compared to Mweb! And I'm talking about Mweb Premium that I had for years now.
Luckily I still have the cancellation letter from back in August when I cancelled my uncapped hosting, just a few modifications and then I'm 100% Mweb free.
Sorry to leave the pioneer of affordable uncapped internet but when the competition is so good I would be a fool not to.

Correct, my Mweb Standard account was being throttled and the Afrihost one is not.
Here is why I decided to move.
1) I got annoyed with the AUP emails from Mweb.
2) I do not have a problem with shaping as long as it is only on heavy use protocol like bit torrent.
3) The speed I get on Afrihost is better than I got on Mweb Premium.
4) Afrihost only shapes when they have to, not based on preset thresholds.
5) Afrihost does not shape everything, only heavy use protocol.
All that combined with the issues I had with Mweb hosting earlier this year was enough reason for me to cancel Mweb.

ADSL seems to be down in Stellenbosch. Area 021 889 can anyone confirm if they have the same issue in Stellenbosch?

I checked for any reports about ADSL problems in your area and we have not received any posts or calls.
Is your DSL light flashing? If yes, and the DSL cable is plugged into a filter, please then plug it directly into the Telkom wall socket.
