MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

I don't understand the logic behind this at all since the same package is now cheaper. Line and data!

Could you please be so kind and put me on the right package. 4mb is fine I don't need an upgrade.

I will arrange for the account package to be changed to the new 4MB pricing. We introduced a new package speed of 6MB for the customer who can't get up to 10MB.

That is why we did not automatically change the packages because there will be customers who does not want the new speeds as there is a cost involved.

Telkom is doing the free upgrades and this will increase the sync speeds but not change the package speeds. Then you'll have a scenario where a customers line is on a higher speed but the product speed has not changed hence you informing us what you'd want to do.

Putting you onto the new price tells us now that you want the up to 4MB package and that the line speed stays on that.

This is exactly my concern as well paying R130 more for the same product you advertise on your website.

So all the people not complaining is going to get ripped off and pay more than what they should while Mweb smiles when going to the bank.

Please be advised that we have informed our customer base via the different channels on what will be needed to be done from their side and also how the Telkom speed upgrades work and the Product speed packages.
 
a quick question, if my line is at 6meg yet i have a 10meg uncapped account, would that cause my connection to become unstable.

The fact that you have a 10Mb data on a 6Mb line should not cause you connection to become unstable.

This could be something related to your line itself.
 
Hi Mweb Guy, I downgraded my personal account to 1gb capped on the 31st December and still got debited for 1mb Uncapped for Jan. Is this correct?

The downgrade most probably happened after the invoice's and debit orders were generated.

Actually, not to be too nasty - the MWEB FB page is darn entertaining since the throttling ... pity I cant troll there but what the hey ... I can still have a laugh. :D:D:D

It does not work at all, I know that much. Especially when you go from Premium to Standard. I was capped for the first 20 days because they could not migrate my usage correctly.

Anyways, should be blowing the cap today and then I'll be using my Afrihost Uncapped (really uncapped) because it has no caps account.

It just has heavy shaping (check the feedback thread complaints :D) Business is the only proper account to be on but then it costs a lot more.

With regards to your totals, you probably downloaded something large 31 days or longer ago which is not being measured anymore:

What happened was I switched from Premium to Standard on the 5th of December. I had 220gb of usage on Premium at that stage so my Standard was capped and unusable. I got Afrihost and did not use Mweb again until the start of January when I decided to cap it one last time before it gets cancelled. So from 6 Dec until 31 Dec there was no usage on the account.

I just spoke to Akhona at the call center I'm throttled she states because I done 70gb over the last 30 days, this is on a standard 2meg account:(. Time to look at alternatives.
 
Great! :) I'm so happy for you :) MWEB's easily the world's worst ISP right now. Their ads are full of lies and bullsh.ts. Their services are hilariously bad.

You know, I would put up with all of that, and I did. Even after the horrible experience I had with Mweb hosting I still loved my Mweb ADSL.

What pushed me over the edge was they have no intelligent way of migrating uncapped users from one package to another. For the first three weeks of going on Uncapped Standard the product was unusable because they did not migrate my usage within threshold.

When I asked about it the answers were of no substance, it p!ssed me off so much I cancelled Mweb.
 
Can someone explain why standard 4meg uncapped users are going to get upgraded but as a premium uncapped 4 meg user I don't get upgraded. Also, what the hell is up with charging a higher rate than advertised during December? Call centre said only new users will get that price, and current users had to wait for January. :wtf:

Hi Jammio, the reason for the premium customers not being auto upgraded is that there will be a cost implication for the customers, therefore customers would need to notify us of they wish to upgrade.
