MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Morning X-Gamer

The customer will need to let us know if they want to remain on the 2Mb package or upgrade to the 4Mb package.

I can't answer with regards to the price cut Telkom announced.

I'll wait till Feb, then I can just switch once from R599 to the 2mbps or the 4mbps.

Sure thing, let me know when you would like to make the switch ;)

Have a good weekend!!

Hey Guys, I don't think we will be dropping throttling.

We may possibly increase thresholds or decrease pricing. This will be decided in the new future, as to how we will proceed.

Poor show indeed.

Son. I am disappoint! :(

Now thats a shame .... :( ...........but thanks for the honest response.

Price isnt the issue for me ... would gladly pay for a good network.

But the thresholds ... well soft capping ... ok, but then tell me EXACTLY what the threshold is .... Right now my ISP is telling me that the network is unshaped and I should download the net ... in stark comparison to what your boss is telling you to say ....

I know you are the messenger and not the dumb schmuck at the top, but your boss leaves ALOT to be desired in the customer service department.

None the less - I will keep an eye on MWEB and with any luck ................

MWEB Guy, please do not decrease current pricing, keep the quality where it is now, unshape more and up the thresholds with +100Gb, and you can kill competition.

:erm:

Other ISPs like Afrihost don't throttle their users who downloaded more than +150 gb worth of data every month.

Worth noting though that I've had more line issues with Afrihost in one month than I ever did with MWeb. My line wasn't bundled at the time so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

what is the catch with the FON router Just received a call that you are giving customerS free routers what is that about MWEB guy

Read what FON is or just go up a few
Posts and it should become
Self explanatory.

Basically MWEB will use your idle bandwidth to extend their wireless network.

@Mweb Guy

Last night i subscribed to a new account - at the end of the process it asked me to upload RICA docs (not sure why for a data only account, but anyway...). I was unable to as I don't have a scanner at home. Today at work, I have my docs ready, but where the fudge is the capability to do this? I can't login to anything, nor can I find any place where it gives me the email/fax number i can send to either...?

Hi JustinB

Send me a private message with your MWEB details and I will do my best to assist.

I have the same problem with MWEB ISP that they cannot provide a proper stable service. I have written complains on "hello peter"
PLEASE BE WARNED..MWEB JUST CONFIRMED THAT THEY MARK HELLO PETER COMPLAINTS AS INAPPROPRIATE..Your complaints will then be removed from "Hello Peters website" making them look good again

Wow, so I actually checked my mweb inbox, seems I also got the email, I average over a 100gb/month. It is still under half of the theoretical limits I could download each month. In fact I'm more pissed that what I thought was an unthrottled account has now become a throttled account without any communication of the fact from mweb. Going to really think this through and ponder a change of ISP. So I will really be throttled because in the next few months some games are coming out that I want to download via steam? Basically for the foreseable future as now a newly realised "Throttled" account holder (whereas a few months ago I was not) I cannot go over 100gb a month? FFS mweb just sell 100gb capped accounts then. ****.

@MwebGuy, try to convince me to stay as I really enjoy mwebs hassle free service and setup, but blatant changing of package conditions without a drop in price or mention to customers is frakking deceitful.

Edit: What the hell is the difference between the Uncapped Premium 1meg and the standard Uncapped 1meg??? They are both the same price?

Hi Janlady

We do not remove complaints from Hello Peter.

We contact customers on the numbers provided in order to assist and resolve queries.

Please note Hello Peter does give companies the option to remove complaints if customers continue to log the same complaint after we handle it to the best of our ability.

We have explained to you the series of events regarding your query and our throttling process on numerous occasions. Your Hello Peter post is on the site and you should have a response on it shortly.

A quick question, or 2, maybe 3.

When I receive my FON Router and Extender do I replace my existing router with the new one from MWEB?

How will I know which of my devices will use my 2mb Line and who uses the "Free wifi".

I don't really understand this because I didn't follow everything from day one.

Hi Piesang

The FON router will be your primary router. You will use the wifi as per normal, nothing different to the current router.

The FON family will only be able to connect the the network if they are subscribers.
