MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Need some help, last two weeks after hours and over weekends has been really bad. Perma packet loss between 5-10%. During office hours everything is fine. I am on a 2mb uncapped account with 4mb line.

And still no joy with the Mweb news servers ...... Is it really going to be ignored because you/your guys connected in Cape Town with no problem?

Not that great speed with FON Router and a 4Mbps Line...
TG589vn v3 Router Sync Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 480 / 3.136
IE 11.0.3

Chrome Version 32.0.1700.107 m

Think only with the MWEB FON - Technicolor TG589VN v3 Router...
Haven't received ours yet been weeks since the router arrived..

Hi MWEBGuy

This morning I'm having trouble with my ADSL. It seems to be a DNS problem (I can connect to sites using their ip).

My router (on DHCP) gives the DNS as 197.84.84.84, which doesn't match anything I have been able to find online.

Lastly I can VPN into the office and then get on the internet (though it is painfully slow in the daytime). The office uses IS, suggesting that the DNS problem is on your side.

Is this a known MWEB issue?

I have a similar issue , tried different routers but it persists. I have to manually set the dns to 8.8.8.8

Are you using MWEB's DNS servers?
Yip, I have not changed any DNS settings.
If I tracert the IP address, it shows me news.mweb.co.za as the name.

they not working my side either
The IP address is working for me again, where are you based?

And still no joy with the Mweb news servers ...... Is it really going to be ignored because you/your guys connected in Cape Town with no problem?

I'm in Cape Town, in stone's throwing distance from the MWEB Internet Plant :P , But it's still not working for me either.

Think our FON router just died sync speeds dropped and now it's Power is On and Power Light is On but all other lights off... seems dead..
