MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Hi

This is kinda unrelated. I could be asking a dumb question, I recently got a 2mbps line from Telkom . My current speed is 2mbps according to Telkom but the Maximum speed in my area is 1mpbs. Which speed should i be getting ?
I hope this makes sense

The max speed doesn't mean too much most of the time. I've seen some people posting that the Telkom website shows their max speed is 1Mbps yet they have a 10 Mbps line.

Also, we received some extenders in stock, so hopefully you'll get yours soon.

Would not be surprised if it was just us poor shmucks in Durban again :rolleyes:



P.S - it was working this morning, slow but working.
 
After being moved to an MSAN my latency has improved significantly but speed has decreased. Previously my best speedtest.net result would be around 3.7 Mbps, now I haven't seen one above 3.2 Mpbs. Router still says syncing at 4092kbps.

My concern is whether this is just a hiccup on Mweb's network or something else?

MOrning, have you tried connecting to the IP instead of news.mweb.co.za?

I haven't had issues with the news server at all hey, but then again i live in cpt
 
Anyone else experience horrible connectivtiy overseas? Skyping to Canada / playing games to america for me are having very high pings/stuttering than usual, and erratic too, but local speed tests and browsing is fine

I've been watching Netflix with no issue.
