MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Well I only download during the night, work during the day. I only downloaded twice last month (two 7GIG +-, one ironically DOTA 2 as I wanted to try it out since I thought there were south African servers for it)

Only 5 gigs over the "Threshold" and I've been a customer for years. All that is done during the day is league/browsing/youtube/hearthstone/work (Emails)

That is it. If I can't even do this without having to watch what I am doing, it is time to consider another ISP. Mweb has just been going backwards over the years. I like Mweb though. :(

why throttled me almost a week already but still mweb does not change back to unthrottled?

I am going to cancel mweb very soon.

Hi

Your account shows that your usage for the last 30days is still above the threshold set on the account.
As soon as the usage for the last 30days falls within the threshold, the speeds will return to normal.
You have a 2mbps standard account which has a threshold of about 70GB's for a 30day rolling window.

I don't find it is right, if I download for 70G for one day and then the rest of the month I need to suffer?
or if I didn't use it for a month, why I don't have 140G for next month?

it is not fair.

... and if I manage to use for the slower speed, why you still count the "throttled speed data"?
should the "throttled speed data" be exempted from the record?

The way it works is that all use in a 30 day rolling window counts towards the threshold.

That is why when your account is throttled, the less you use the sooner you get unthrottled

do you think a guy uses 2 - 3 Gb / day is an abuser? I really don't think so.

We do offer premium packages that have a higher threshold than our standard products.

The standard 2Mb account that you are on has a threshold of around 70 Gb where the premium 2Mb has a threshold of around 200gb

MWeb Guy -

With MS office 365, that will soon be giving 1 TB onedrive space as part of the subscription, I will be migrating all my music/photos/documents to the cloud. This will require about a 300 Gig upload to onedrive..

I know with SA's pathetic upload speeds, this gonna take a properly a few weeks to upload

Do I understand correctly that uploads do not count toward my threshold.

I am on the 6 Meg Premuim package.

MWEB Guy, any news on a firmware update for these FON routers?

Hi

The firmware update has been deployed and as long as the router is connected, it should auto update.
I checked your router and it seems to have the latest firmware loaded.

Hi fbman

You are correct in your understanding.
Uploaded data does not count towards your threshold at this point in time.
Only downloaded data is counts towards it.
