MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

With MWEB... Now I am not happy. I get upgraded to a 10MB package and yet since Monday my downstream is still on 4MBps.

I keep getting told it is being investigated, what exactly must one do to get this sorted out.

I check the ADSL line checker site and that is also on 10MB :(

I am at wits end, i do the speed tests and still get speeds of 4MBps

I double checked in my Mweb Account dashboard to see if I was throttled or anything like that... nope.

I opened up an Afrihost account and connected to that. Problem solved, everything working 100%. Hop back onto my Mweb account, same problem.

I had to use my Afrihost account to post this as I obviously couldn't open the MYBB forums from my Mweb account.

We are aware of a few customers experiencing similar issue as you and are working on it. I unfortunately can't provide an ETA

Try flushing the DNS via ipconfig / flushdns

I forgot to mention, Im having a similar issue to this in some ways. Certain pages or sites will just stay stuck at loading endlessly. But VERY late at night, the pages will then load if I try (slowly)

One example is when I visit Ebay. Homepage/search etc works fine. But the moment I try click to go to My Ebay Summary... It stays at loading the page forever until I cancel it. Telkom account? Works! Afrihost Account? Works! Mweb? 12 am? Maybe it'll work.

Im actually getting tired of this. Torrents are beyond the low priority until around 12am now.. Peers are non existent. I can find maybe 1 peer IF Im lucky. Otherwise it's stuck at looking for peers/connecting to peers. And if Im even more lucky, I'll get a couple KB's at most download wise. And even after 12 am it's not always so great >_> Also I know the torrent is fine. Because if I randomize the port, for a couple of seconds the torrent(s) will load tons of peers quickly and then just as quick as they come, they vanish before my eyes.

Can't connect to IRC servers/get disconnected every few minutes regardless of the time of the day. Tried multiple ports including SSL.

I think Im going to have to switch ISP's if this keeps up. I mean Im paying for the Premium Uncapped 4Mbit package.. Most of my http(s) downloads aren't even flying like they used to including Steam downloads. Telkom works fine. Afrihost Works fine. Mweb doesn't.

Im sick of this.

Quite a few Sefricans playing as well. Major issues with it are just the last couple of weeks. Note, over weekends I dont have any issues at all, been playing this since Oct 2012.

So has Mweb totally killed P2P during "peek hours" 07:00 - 23:59. Or does the switch get turned on at midnight?

When did that happen, I was under the impression I was on the 10Mbps all inclusive for R899? If my line is indeed with Telkom can you maybe tell me when you guys moved it please?

From what I can see it was migrated back to Telkom when you upgraded from the 4mbps product in July to the 10mbps standard.

Didn't resolve the issue on my desktop. Obviously also a problem to flush the DNS of the various mobile devices/tablets around the house.

The issue is particularly frustrating as my exchange is also temperamental and congested. So when I have line speed, I now have lookup issues, or a combination of both.

I'll try again later this evening, but for now I'm having to stay on the Afrihost account to get anything done.

Anyone of you want to explain the reasoning for having no news server access with your product when every ISP does? Did the bright spark who thought this up realise just how much business you will be losing? Or does no one really care? (my guess).

I'm curious to understand something here.

What good, exactly, does a special deal with GigaNews do your users if you are just going to port shape any and all connections TO GigaNews and any other newsgroup server to death for 18 out of every 24 hours of the day ?

That's like giving someone a car for free but only letting them drive it between midnight and 6 in the morning every night, which makes it a fairly useless car in the grand scheme of things.
