MWEB Guy, why are iOS updates so slow?

I began 4 updates about 30 minutes ago (200MB's worth). Usually they would be done in a few minutes.

But this seems to be a regular thing with all the ISPs. It's been ongoing, on and off, for a while now.

Can't say just as yet, next time I notice it I'll cancel the updates and switch over to another ISP to test, and feedback to you.

Not really. My downloads have been a steady 100-150KB on Mweb. Today my download speeds on Steam are averaging about 200 at most. Constantly fluctuating.

I cannot provide a Crystal web tracert as I capped it last night with steam. But testing my Telkom account with Steam downloads right now is pretty stable, averaging 370KB and going to 400KB. http://i.imgur.com/SS6HWdC.png

My Mweb account on the other hand - http://i.imgur.com/bzjXzWn.png

The same kind of performance is given to me when trying to watch YouTube videos, twitch streams, general downloads etc. This continues after 12 AM as well. I very rarely now days seem to get full speed on Mweb after 12AM.

My line stats are stable at this time, and while not the best, http://i.imgur.com/TyhYjgq.png this is what I have always had here and currently there are no fluctuations on my line which could potentially be causing the slowdown.

The usage for the last 3 days (including today), shows steady data consumption.

I would suggest as a test, try using google DNS and let me know if this improves your streaming.

With regards to the downloads, are you testing with a capped Telkom account?

Im using a capped account yes.

In regards to the steady data consumption, this is true technically. But not at full speeds on Steam downloads. Which as far as Im aware, is prioritized on your network is it not?

Steam is prioritised, however we cannot guarantee that it would run at line speeds all the time.

Also, testing with a capped account is also not a true test. How long would you run the download using the capped account?

There are also other factors to consider.

I have used 35GB roughly on my Telkom account downloading on Steam. And the speed has always when checked, been running at maximum speed. I am still continuing to get max speeds while downloading with Telkom. The same applies for YouTube and other places. I am aware that the sale can affect speeds on Steam's servers. But why would my Telkom account work fine, the Crystalweb account too and not Mweb? Because Steam is still using the same download server on all 3 accounts.

Plus the summer sale does not explain the YouTube performance either. Are you guys having a much higher load right now due to the sale itself? Is that perhaps affecting some of us because of an increased usage on your network?
