MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Maybe follow your own advice and "If you're unhappy, I suggest looking for another ISP."

Definitely what I will be doing soon.

I use several ISPs (two main ones) and because I use Thunderbird, I don't have Gmail issues. Gmail issues only occur in Chrome.

The problem is that this is not limited to MWEB (although at the moment it seems mainly to be), it's more of an issue with Chrome because other browsers work perfectly. But when I do use my other ISPs, I don't have the issue.

I don't use them enough though to completely rule out the ISPs from being problem-free.

Definitely won't be moving.

Probably because changing realm is almost like a port reset.

Sure is similar, but I wouldn't think IPs change within 5 minutes of each other/using the other account, which is the reason I said "All realm changes done within minutes of each other."

I'll test next time and observe IPs.

Another striking difference, which I'm discussing in PM, is that I've sometimes had Twitch chat not loading with @mweb. Changing to @dslmweb resolves this. If I connect back to @mweb (again, within minutes), Twitch chat won't load. Connecting back to @dslmweb (again, within minutes, so I suspect not enough time for an IP change), Twitch chat loads.

This is only occasionally though.

Same thing with Google services via Chrome, not working on @mweb but working on @dslmweb.

A while back tech support told me @mweb is for capped and @dslmweb is for uncapped, of course, I have also been told there is no difference. Maybe I should change to @dslmweb and see if my gaming can ahppen again.

I think you should try, you've got nothing to lose.

In the past, @mweb usually performed better for me. Using it now.

Who cares about twitch chat. At least you can stream mobile quality.

Had enough. I've been throttled for a week now since switching to 2mb. Did you know you can actually download more on a 1mbps line than on a 2mbps? It's true.

Another thing, I PAY FOR UNCAPPED ADSL. So when I get my connection TO AN MWEB SERVER (Steam download repo) throttled IN THE EVENINGS and even at like 2AM, that is 100% the worst service I can possibly expect. My advice, stick to an ISP that doesnt treat you like a criminal when you start downloading a little too much.

1Mbps Premium = 100GB
2Mbps Standard = 70GB
2Mbps Premium = 200GB.

Uncapped doesn't mean eat as much as you can. It mans you never get cut off.

Hi drsatan1

Yes, it is true that you can download more with a 1MB Premium account compared to 2 MB Standard. Why? Because of the thresholds.

1MB Premium has a threshold in the region of 100GB & 2MB Standard around 70GB

The 2MB is faster than 1MB though

We don't treat you like a criminal, we provide the account you agreed to and the Data is managed by you.

If you continuously find yourself throttled, have you at any point in time perhaps looked at what package will best fit your household Data needs?

Having the exact same problem. Switching to firefox solves the problem or changing your search provider in chrome to bing. I think there is something wrongly configured on the local google cluster.

I have created a query on googles site: https://productforums.google.com/fo...chrome/a3JfwFp7yDs;context-place=forum/chrome

Want to give this a bash? http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...le-Service?p=15481042&viewfull=1#post15481042

I haven't been home, will try soon.

Haha. yeah don't really blame mweb but they cannot deny that this does not work on their network and should be something for them to investigate.

I've made one of the MWEB techs aware of it and the fix, hopefully they pass it on to all their support agents and clients.

Just an FYI though, it does happen with other ISPs.
