MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Mweb Talk is now completely unusable on Mweb DSL account's. Very poor speech quality. Had to switch to my Afrihost account, which is far better ATM.

Tell me what is your speed like on your MWEB account.
 
Cannot log in to my MWEB account (Centurion). Posting from my Afrihost free backup account, which works fine.
 
Just tested my accounts pending cancellation, and no surprise that Mweb have not fixed the packet loss and latency problem to their own sip servers. I can't believe how the level of service has dropped at Mweb since Mweb Business was sold to IS.

I have had 3 calls already, and they said they are working on it. 2 weeks and no resolution? Switched back to my Afrihost account which works fine.
But I think you are missing the point in my argument. Mweb Talk should be flawless on Mweb DSL account's, but it is not. Mweb Talk performs terribly on Mweb Accounts. Using Mweb Talk on a another ISP account performs almost perfectly. On net traffic should always be better than off net, as no peering takes place. So I am very confused. I think on Mweb DSL, Mweb Talk traffic is being shaped (not intentionally) or there is a faulty/congested router/link on the path to the SIP servers.
 
Hi, We are not experiencing any mail related issues.
Ty using your ISP's smtp server and test.

We are able to send using the SMTP server provided by my ISP - but he is now travelling and at various hotels so that is no longer an option. Why is smtp.mweb.co.za bringing up a 550 error for sending?

Been having some issues lately, have two 10mb connections to the same dslam / exchange, so checking ISP performance is pretty easy :)

Around 20:45 (Exactly) to around 22:30 each night the last weeks speeds have dropped to 2Mbps from the usual 8Mbps, on international traffic, local is getting full speed.

If I swap the account to the other line, same issue, Afrihost on both gets full speeds.

Is there something going on in the Western Cape area?

Note I only do around 120GB a month on a premium uncapped 8MB account.

Hi, where do you notice a drop in speeds, via speed test results or download app? If it's the latter, which type of traffic are you battling with, is it P2p, Nntp, etc?

Youtube, Twitch, Netflix, gaming traffic,

I can see it limiting around 2Mpbs, I can also see it spiking from max speed downwards, almost like QOS kicking in, only during these times

How do you measure your speeds on video streaming sites? Have you already contacted Telkom to recreate your port in an attempt to better your experience?
