Hi nelis,

As mentioned, this was escalated to the relevant department to be in contact with you. I will follow up with them regarding this.

Seems I'm not the only one with issues. Latency to EU usually 200. Sitting at 350 atm...

My NNTP to my paid news server has been really horrible ever since the IPC outage. I can get max 100Kb/s at any time of day. Surely the network is not so used at 4AM in the morning that I need to be shaped so badly. This seems like throttling to me...

Also, when I use Mweb's server I get full speed. But then again that does not help me with the older articles in my queue.

Good morning Guys, please advise if you are still having problems with packet loss and speed this morning?

Hi MWEB Guy,

I upgraded my connection from 384 Uncapped (Shaped) to 4096 Uncapped (Shaped) on Tuesday evening, the following has been my experience thus far:

When I try to browse to websites, I find that some load quickly while others are loading incredibly slowly, i.e. slower or at the same speed that they did before I upgraded my connection.

The majority of my downloads are running quite slow (60-150KB/s), e.g. I've been updating my BF3 all night and it's downloading at 68KB/s and has done only 2GB in 8 hours.

If I try to download with P2P (i.e. BitTorrent), My download speed is between 40-120KB/s with occasional burst of up between 300-400KB/s while it then reverts to the slower speeds.

Now, I can understand the slow downloads on P2P since you do have shaping policies in place, but surely things like game updates and browsing should not be affected the way that they have been?

Hopefully you'll find the following information useful in some way:

I've done a speedtest to Durban, where I live:

and Paris, an international location:

As you can see, the results are quite different.

I've also done a tracert to www.mweb.co.za:

Good Morning Boored, I noticed that your routing through the Durban IPC. Please be aware that there was maintenace done on that exchange yesterday evening through to this morning. Please let me know if you are still having the same experience at the moment?

My NNTP to my paid news server has been really horrible ever since the IPC outage. I can get max 100Kb/s at any time of day. Surely the network is not so used at 4AM in the morning that I need to be shaped so badly. This seems like throttling to me...

Good Morning dasco144, please be aware that you have shaped service and p2p speeds are not gauranteed.

Seems I'm not the only one with issues. Latency to EU usually 200. Sitting at 350 atm...

Good Morning Zolly, please advise if you are still encountering a problem with ingame latency this morning?
