@ MWEB guy

I'd like to open an uncapped account with you guys. Details:
Mostly using internet for Gaming (Xbox360), Am located in Rondebosch where the exchange is very crowded and I'd like to know what uncapped package you'd recommend. I was thinking a 1meg line??

Please advise

In the past I haven't really had any problems with MWEB and shaping. Normally I would get max speed on all types of downloads at any given time of day.

Hi Brandcaul,

I'll arrange for a sales consultant to contact you, who will assist with finding a product that will best suite you.

Please PM me your contact details.

MWEB Guy

Hi guys

A quick question to the 1024 kbps uncapped users - Is the line\account limited to 512 down and 256 up? On average?

Thanks
RB

No, it's 1024 down, 512 up, but obviously it depends on what you are using the line for, as shaping will determine your actual speed.

Anyone else getting very erratic speeds on NNTP? Did a speed test and it was fine but NNTP is all over the place

Torrents are being shaped to hell and back on the 384kbps line (1KB/s-3KB/s). I've only just joined MWEB and already i feel cheated. Is it always like this? If so, how often?

I think my internets back to normal now, skype and games working fine =D (I hope I don't speak to soon :erm:)

Are these the speeds you are getting now (during office hours) or speeds after hours?

It will be like this during the day. Run them overnight.

Good evening Schitzo, please let me know if your connection has stabilised since this afternoon.

So internation torrents run at 300kb/s but local news.mweb runs at 60kb/s. Mweb please tell me the logic behind this?

I tried testing by pinging the same site you do but so for no timeouts. The internet EXTREMELY slow. Checking the status site I see no problems that should be affecting me.
What is going on MWEB Guy? I'm not used to the network being this slow/unstable.

Evening Qrox, I cannot find any reason for your experience on my side. Can I delete the session on my side and you reboot for a short period? I want to establish if connecting with a new IP assists you.
