Good evening fbman, your line readings reflect a very low SNR and a high attenuation. Also you are still connecting with the same IP, with all your resets.

I would like to recreate your port and delete your current session to force a connection with a new IP. (not guaranteed to work). May I do so?

What have you done? :(

From 64 kB/s to 2 kB/s on my torrent.

Ugh.

Evening Copacetic, we haven't done anything. Maybe more clients are downloading rite now, more clients contending for the same amount of bandwidth as earlier. This should improve through the course of the evening, please let me know if it doesn't.

It's cool, got like 0.4% to go. Just want it to bloody finish now. :D

You might recall you commented on my continual disconnects; I think I figured it out - The jack on the phone line appears to be very corroded, I am replacing them tomorrow. Hopefully that'll sort it out.

I am currently chatting support thanks

I downgraded my 4MB uncapped to 1MB uncapped because I am paying for 4MB but I never ever got it, now I'm paying for 1MB and I barely get it.

By "get it" I mean, acceptable speeds even at hours like 3am or 4am.
When I did web downloads, be it wallpapers or whatever, I never got 400KB/s or close... always under 100 etc.

So... ya! I went down to 1MB.

how much per month are you paying???

Thanks for the feedback Copacetic, please let me know the outcome of replacing the jack.

Mweb guy my speeds are terrible tonight , who can i contact to have it checked out?

Yeah my speeds are also not great at the moment. I am trying to download Skyrim from Steam using the Mweb Johannesburg Steam content server and I am not able to achieve a stable 100-110kb/s download. It keeps dropping from 100 to 60kb/s. This means I will only be able to play the game on Saturday which kind of defeats the purpose of pre-loading. Please help.

I am trying to download the star wars the old republic beta client and its running at 3kb/s , best i had at around 18:30 was 200kb/s.

Pathetic :(

Just did the mweb speed test to london and heres the results

Last Result:
Download Speed: 806 kbps (100.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 381 kbps (47.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 312 ms
Jitter: 106 ms
Packet Loss: 0%

Hey MWEB Guy,

Is there a way to follow up on the progress with Mweb ?
A MWEB rep called the other night saying he will be sending my fault to another division

Telkom sent a tech to my house today saying the line was perfect no faults or echos, he also tested the jack on the wall, i asked him if the exchange was congested or overloaded, and he said they had recently put in new hardware there to help the load.

So i'm a bit confused as to how i get this issue resolved, id really appreciate any advice.
Thank you.

Evening Guys, please note that as the amount of people downloading increases; so the download speed per user should decrease. This is due to the fact that all our shaped clients are contending for the available bandwidth allocated to that specific traffic. This should however increase during the course of the evening. Please let me know should your experience not improve during the course of the evening.

my download speeds , they are shocking and very inconsistent , the whole of last night i was getting about 12kb/s and currently stuck on 20kb/s

I'm unable to access my Mweb email through the website. It keeps refreshing on it's own and nothing happens- tech told me to turn off pop up blocker, which I did, and it's still doing the same thing.

Good evening, your tracer results is a classic case of congestion. The second hop reflects that the problem is closer to the remote end (possible congestion at the exchange).
