It seems logging was disabled in the router and I redid the speedtest to a Vodacom server in Johannesburg and its stats are amamazingly better. 4mbs down and 206kps up( that is bad)

BTW where do find line stats? Do you mean the logging for the router.

International sluggish to load pages and keep getting micro freezes ingame. Local is 100% gravy and other accounts are ok International wise .... anything up?

I'm also experiencing some International sites being tremendously slow - like http://www.inno3d.com/products/graphic_card/gf500/gtx_570_g.html for instance.

My international latencies are excellent: 180ms to EU / 240ms to US.

Update:
Other international sites are loading quite fast (like Yahoo), and Inno3D is also very slow on NeoBroadband Fibre :(

Here's a traceroute via Mweb to inno3d:

Is there an MWEB guy on the forum that can help. Firstly I have a 4mb uncapped, but connection today has been disconnecting all the time. My router says I am recieving 5 mbs and uploading of 512 ( is this right?). But when I do a speedtest with speedtest to mweb servers I geting the worst connection ever it says I get 1.4mbs and maybe 400kbps. I have never had this speed. I will add proof

Hi
Has your speed improved ?
If not please send me your MWEB details so that I can investigate.

MWEB Guy

My torrent speeds are getting worse and worse this morning. Started off at 40-60kbs and at the moment it is hovering around 10kbs. I know the shaping during the weekend is supposed to be a bit looser but at the moment I'm getting worse speeds than I was getting during the week in the afternoons.

Earlier I tried resetting the modem and router for 30 minutes but that didn't help. I changed FROM @dslmweb to @mweb but that only increased the speed for a couple of minutes. As I'm typing this my speed has dropped to 1.3kbs.
Is there any fault at the moment that you know about or anything I could try to increase my speed?

Normal http downloads seem to be running at full speed.

Hi I am not aware any faults currently.
I have tested this on our test bench and I am getting decent speeds currently.

Don't know if your test interrupted my session or something like that but for the first time in weeks my torrent speeds have shot up to 105kbs.
Unfortunately its dropped back down to 60kbs but at least thats a hell of a lot better than the 1kbs I was getting a few minutes ago.

EDIT: and its just dropped back to 2kbs

I'm going to reset everything again and hope that it helps.

Good evening Gimaru, you still have a callback scheduled for 2011-11-12 18:30:00. Would you like me to have this moved forward?

Doh, you forgot to move this call forward for me as requested, didn't get anything last night. Will tonight's call still happen then?

I have spoken to our specialists and you will be receiving the callback later today

Its not just the torrents that are slow at the moment. Trying to download a file from fileserve, I can see that I'm getting a max download speed of 42kbs

EDIT: and megaupload I can't even get 1kbs. Going to switch back to @dslmweb now.

EDIT AGAIN: And that didn't work either. I really don't know what else I can try. Max download speed I'm getting from megaupload atm is 3kbs and keeps dropping down to 0.

MWEB Guy. Is there anything that you can suggest I try to fix my problem. As it is now the download speed is getting worse and worse, its really frustrating not to be able to properly use the internet.
I have reset my connection 3 or 4 times today already, restarted my computer, reinstalled my network drivers, plugged the LAN cable into one of my other network ports, reconfigured my adsl username to @dslmweb and @mweb and none of the things I've mentioned has been able to fix my problem.

I also can't see any problems on the mweb network status page so I am really at a loss here.

Hi Qrox,

Could you please see the inbox message I sent you.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

Hi everyone,

Just a friendly reminder that we will be carrying out some network maintenance in our Johannesburg data centre tonight from 22:00 pm until 10:00 am Sunday 13 November 2011 . ADSL Connectivity will not be affected however all services in our JHB Data Centre will be intermittently unavailable during this time. This includes mail servers, hosted websites and MWEB Game servers.
Please refer to our MWEB notice email sent on 8th November 2011 for the full list of affected services.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

Did something happen about 5/10 mins ago? Connection dropped for a few seconds and I am sure browsing is now slightly slower... But it's not unusably slow thank goodness!

Yep there it goes again, well done mweb. Constant D/C's...

Mweb, can I make a suggestion? maybe, you know, FIX IT?

"ADSL Connectivity will not be affected"

Must be birds causing all my browsing issues then ....... seriously, how can you do maintenance that basically kills the entire network on a Saturday evening that will last until late Sunday morning.

Ya just started a game of Lol and my ping is now 660+. Nice how ADSL Connectivity will not be affected. FFS!
