Are you only experiencing lag when using Gameranger? How is your general browsing?

Exact same issue as last week bru, methinks that card in London needs to be looked at again because it's identical issues - Int traffic dies and comes back like a rollercoaster.

Can you give me some more detail on the symptoms and the timing of the problem you had this time around?

I find it interesting that skype is shaped. It should have a slightly lower priority than emails.

Was gaming (DDO) and my connection to server flatlined. Alt-Tabbed out of game and sites were timing as well. It came and went about 4 or 5 times in the space of say 20-30mins odd. Was on another pc next to me with a different account and I was able to surf normally.
 
I've actually gotten quite used to sluggish browsing, just got to the point where I accept it as a fact of life
 
HI Mweb guy,

Im having no problems downloding or browsing.Speedtest results show 264ms ping to london.geting full speeds on torrents after twelve pm thats when i do most of my downloading so as not to slow down the connection for gaming.

And yet another night of Skype problems with Mweb.

I've just logged a call to the support desk so lets see what happens.

Moved from Newsdemon to Astraweb and my speeds are not good at all now :/ Is anyone else going through this? Or is newsdemon generally quicker?
 
Mweb told me that it was "only me" having problems with slow browsing and that it was because of my line. I phone Telkom and they say the line is fine. So now I'm moving my line to MWeb so that they can't blame each other any more.

Now I read that many, MANY others are having similar problems to me... not a good sign.

Can anyone else confirm:
  • Browsing is slow. Click a link... wait... waaaaaiiiitt.... waaaaiiiittttttt.. page loads about halfway, some images missing, may not even load at all.
  • Skype video... incredibly bad. Worse than a 384k line.
  • HTTP downloads (non pirated stuff) less than 5% of line speed. If you use a download accelerator, it may get to around 10 to 20% of line speed. Sometimes a little more.
  • Torrents - quite good, up to 60 to 80% of line speed (meanwhile this isn't what I want, I would rather have P2P running at 20% of line speed and my fricken actual important stuff WORKING

I also been suffering with slow speeds, logged a call with mweb and it was even esculated to telkom.

Telkom gave some speech over quality of my line, distance etc. I was slowed down to 2 Meg... Mweb say there nothing they can really do.

My internet is slow in the early evening, however over the weekend it flys.. Astraweb is effected the most, Mweb confimed my slow astraweb speeds is not due to shaping, but other line factors.
