definitely an issue somewhere there

Good evening

I hope someone is able to assist me. I've been an mweb subscriber for quite a long time and have never had an issue with the uncapped service provided. The last week has been incredibly bad. My latency is extremely high and my mweb account is basically dead and un-usable. Due to the nature of my work I have had no time to report the issue. Please can somebody assist me.

I only download between 10-20gb of data a month and game on the account. All the info is below for reference. Thanks in advance

Hi Jacques_mybb

I would say confirming with Telkom to see if this is exchange related.

Hi StigerSchutze

I would like to look into this from our side. Please PM me the MWEB account details and I will keep you posted.

Hi schumi

Please let me know if you are still unable to access this site? Is this the only site you can't access?

Seems to have just fixed itself, should have posted earlier:) . will check tomorrow during the day

Anyone else just get a complete net drop?

Yeah, I got one at 23:07 - On OpenWeb tho - but having the same problems as most of the mweb 1mb issues.

For fun I logged a fault with telkom after running a speed test (which took like 15 minutes to run):
Download Speed: 32 kbps (4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 265 kbps (33.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 18 ms

Trying to take part in the Guild Wars 2 Beta Stress Test last night and I was unable to connect to the Guild Wars 2 servers while using our Mweb 4MB Uncapped account. I switched over to a free unshaped 1GB capped Afrihost account and connected immediately.

Furthermore http traffic has been having some serious DNS problems and torrents have been downloading extremely slowly. Mweb is having some issues, if possible please look into the Guild Wars 2 issue, I'll try find the port numbers used if needed as I don't know them currently.

Had no trouble connecting to the Guild Wars 2 stress test last night, at least no more trouble than most people had in the first half-hour of it going live.

As for DNS problems; just use Google's DNS. I noticed that as well: websites frequently failing to connect to server on MWEB's DNS.

Guild Wars 2 (logging in or playing), however, isn't a problem. Unless you have the same problems as the folk in Durban, in which case I'm pretty sure it's not just Guild Wars 2 that you'd be having problems with :)

Hi MarzAttakz

Please could you test it again later when you can and let me know if you still having problems.
I'll then look into it from my side for you.

Thanks.

@MWEB Guy: Unfortunately the GW2 Beta events are scheduled for specific dates. I'll be sure to shout up if I have issues on the next one. I'll keep an eye on http and p2p during the day.

@Lycanthrope: I kept getting the 7:1000:XX:XXX disconnected from server error, likely due to DNS, what issues did the guys in Durbs have? It resolved itself when I switched over to Afrihost, have you got google DNS set in your router or only on your machine?

The folk in Durbs seem to be having latency issues and packetloss, at least from what I've read further back in this thread.

I have Google DNS set up in my router (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4). It's a fraction slower than the default MWEB DNS server, but at least it's reliable.

I didn't get that error at all in Guild Wars 2 last night, so you may be right: could be DNS.
