So the JHB link might be running a little full at the moment, but other than that Durbanites should be fine. (I did find it odd that no-one was complaining :D)

Oh joy in joburg... Streets congested, dsl congested, population congested... Everything 150% while our wallets are at 5%.

Just to clarify this guys - the IPC link is fine, the backbone links to Durban are currently down, but we're able to bypass this by routing you to the JHB IPC link.

Since going onto the JHB IPC link my torrents are all of a sudden working and having no problems with P2P.

Physical line break or electronic failure?

Way I see it is if its a broken cable of such thats an immediate disconnect, but if it was electronic failure on equipment, then that could have affected us over a prolonged time period while it was on route to failing ??

I hear where you're coming from, but we're not talking about old school ATM links here :) These are 10GB fibre backbone links - if they were running any errors we'd know about it very quickly and address it.

I ran your theory past the network gurus here. They've assured me that the traffic manager policies are automatically kept 100% in sync across the 3 links. It's possible that the traffic manager didn't initially classify your traffic as p2p due to it being switched over mid stream.

Backbone links are being restored as we speak and you should be back on the Durban IPC very soon, if not already.

since the cable break my internet is flying! and the pings are low!! I am in pmb so should be routed through DBN, it seems Mweb's DBN pop is useless.....

Either the Durban pop needs to be reconfigured or done away with, because when being routed through JHB my internet is 1000% better?

You've been back on the Durban link since just after 11h30 :p Glad to hear it's working better for you now.

Sorry was talking about earlier when I checked my news downloads at 9am was gettling 300KB/s+, just check now getting 28KB/s :wtf:

But any who.... I have cancelled both my accounts with Mweb just got to wait till the end on next month though.

Cut a long story short, when load balancing my two Mweb Accounts & DSL Lines I get a max of 280kbps.
When using my same system with Afrihost accounts I get 920KB/s to the same sites as tested above....

Logged a few faults with Mweb, you guys are very helpful but no resolutions in site so jumping ship, its a pity because I like Mweb!

Any feedback on when I may be able to play online properly again? I don't get any joy whatsoever from Telscum (what a surprise).

Afternoon MWEB Guy

Its been about and hour and we are getting 500 ping and 3 kbs download??

What is going on!!! And this is local

That's a very difficult one to answer Hummer

Particularly when it comes to trying to load balance two shaped consumer products. Our products aren't designed for this sort of application and to be fair to our support staff they would not be able to offer you assistance with this so you're in very uncharted territory. If you have these sort of high end needs why not consider a bonded solution from MWEB Business?

I hope that you come right with whatever solution you do choose and if not, you know where to find us.

Good afternoon, no feedback as yet... The outage is still on our notice board.

Good Afternoon oliverwww, we still have an open Telkom fault for you that could be impacting on your experience at the moment.

Your attenuation is also at 61dB.

Just saying that AH is fine but Mweb not at the moment (280 vs 350). Maybe still your link?

The strange part is, when running the two adsl line independently

Telkom Line > Router > Laptop
Telkom Line 2 > Router > Desktop

The second line disconnects when line one is maxed out! (still synced but PPPoE auth Failed), But only with Mweb accounts! Can't seem to replicate this with any other ISP.
So the problem points to Mweb and Telkom confirmed this.

I have spent almost two months of testing and back and fourth emails with your Tech's still no joy....

But thanks...

Strange?

Our neighbours are on 55db hmmmm...........

Yesterday was fine though, but our sync speed dropped from 3072 to 2752
