Good evening, if you registered a few days into the month; then we would work out a pro-rata billing for that month. The fact that we bill in advance would also impact on your billing. Therefore the pro-rata portion plus the 1 month installment for the new month; would have given you the R378.00

Hi,

Telkom announced the upgrading of 1MB users to 2MB during June

I have been paying R299 per month for 1MB line, that has now been lowered to R199 for 1MB

How is MWEB going to repond to existing 1MB users going to 2MB ?

Hi Dion Disco

If and when Telkom does the actual upgrades, MWEB perhaps will look into 2MB packages.
 
So Mweb got some more Bandwidth today according to Will's post. Started my torrents just now and I'm happy to report that it made a HUGE difference in speed on the torrents. Going full speed at the moment on the 4meg package. Well done to Mweb. I am very :D now!

If you're talking about torrents then this is normal, Mweb torrents been really slow during the day for the past month due to shaping(sooooooooo much faster today tho, yay!!!! jumps around like a schoolgirl) and you're not gonna get that much faster than 25kB/s on a 384 line...

Thanks for the details, I received it. I have responded as well, please keep me posted.

Also, bear in mind, you have a 384 line and a 1Mb package with us. The account will get 384 speeds as the line is still 384. The average speed on the 384 line will be between 18-30kb.

I looked at the network page but can not see any Pretoria or Nelspruit exchanges. Do you have more information?

Hi rpm

It's listed on the Telkom noticeboard as an ESR failure. We do have it up on our outages page - usually a CTRL-F5 brings up the newer ones.

I have a full list of affected DSLAM's, but it's not pasting well here :)

I'll send it to you in a PM.

Thanks froot, I'll follow up and try to confirm this. it only came up in their noticeboard very recently. Your answer would explain why I'm not really seeing the call volumes in our Contact Center I would expect from an outage this size.
 
Ok. Now that the 2mbs ADSL upgrade has been confirmed by telkom, we just have to wait and hope for a good response form Mweb.
 
What would make sense is having the 1MB data package regardless of whether you have a 384KB or 1MB line on all inclusive. The two being the exact same price and all.

If you have a 384 Line it will cost more to get a 1meg line, those arn't the same price and not free yet, costs R150+- more
