MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Have been using MWeb 1 meg uncapped for just over a month, and it is has been generally great. Even though I have a WA capped account, I would not touch their uncapped. They have a variety of control measures (rolling windows) that would be a total pain to me. With MWeb I leave a file downloading and do not have to worry about exceeding the window as MWeb controls speeds based on usage. I think the slowest I have had during office hours is above 50% capacity of line and that was once or twice. With WA I would have to make sure I do not exceed either a 6 hour or 7 day window. Such a pain and so outdated.

We got upgraded to a 1mb connection speed by mweb (we where 384kb) But our telkom line is only a 384kb. Do you know if telkom are going to upgrade all the 384s to 1mb anytime soon? Ive heard rumors.

Hi DarklampGuy

They certainly will be upgrading 384k customers to 1Mbps, according to this article.
However it also mentions that the upgrades will only be happening as of from August through September.
So it may be a few weeks away but it seems as though it definately is going to happen.

Hi Mweb Guy:
Will MWEB be upgrading 1Meg all-inclusive to 2Meg?
If MWEB decide to keep 1Meg All-Inclusive users at 1Meg (ISP), will you still upgrade actual line to 2Meg for no charge?
Am I just being impatient for news, should I rather just wait for the Press Release? :)

Hi XperiAnce

Regarding 1mb to 2mb we really can't confirm anything. We are awaiting feedback from our Products team as to how we will proceed going forward. Once we receive the feedback, we will inform our customers that will be affected.

Lol.
It's Telkom. They will upgrade 4Mb to 16Mb. Just not anytime this decade.

hahaha :-) good one! telskum cannot even give ma consistent 4 meg connection, let alone 16MB :-P
 
Been a proud Mweb 1mb Uncapped subscriber for over a year now.. No complaints! D/L a helluva lot and an avid BF3/D3/Dota2 player, hardly ever had issues.. Usually on telkom's side if somethings up :)

It will be best to wait for Telkom to make an official announcement.
