MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Have been having terrible speeds in the last day or so. My line is directly through telkom but is syncing at 1mb just fine. SNR margins are nice and high, line attenuation is fine too.. So im assuming my problems are ISP related.

I just did a speed test, after waiting over 40 mins for the 9.7mb speedtest app to download on my ipad. Anyway, nearest server (Rosebank), ping :29ms, download: 0.07Mbps, upload: 0.16Mbps.

For a 1mb line on the 1mb uncapped accout it's unacceptable. It's dial-up speeds! My days on mweb are limited..

Hi MWEB Guy

When is Mweb going to be releasing details on the 2mb uncapped product. I got word from telkom that my line is due to be upgraded in the next 3 weeks and I would like my 1mb account upgraded to a 2mb acc as well

Sorry if you have been asked this a billion times:)

Last I heard Mweb Guy said he will let us know as soon as he gets the info->public from their product team.

Same issue here wednesday night and thursday morning, now again this morning

Please provide me pings and tracers to local and international sites.

HOw many active connections are on your network?
 
Been with MWEB uncapped since 2012/05/30

Nothing but good results.
No torrents, no news server downloads
Youtube 720p view without issues, anytime of the day, 1080p needs 10sec and then fine
Sometimes watching/playing a Youtube video while connecting to office VPN, and retreiving data from SQL server.

Upload: 0.54 mbps
Ping: 15ms

+1. Had Mweb for 2 months now.
I've got some game updates (they decided to distribute their updates via p2p) that actually runs really nicely....
News server files (Mweb and intl) run at amazing speeds.
Gaming is sweet.
Browsing/Youtube is epic.

Keep up the good work :)

According to Cindy at Mweb they were supposed to have those details the end of last week. Its a week later & still nothing.
 
Sitting about 400m from my exchange.. not sure if that might be the reason
Router syncs at 7007 mbps

I'm really sorry about this, we checked in with Cindy and it seems that she got the wrong end of the stick on an internal communication that was sent out :o

We are still busy with the process of reviewing our product range and pricing in line with the announced line speed changes and we will let you guys know as soon as we have an official update on this, but we can't commit to you exactly when this will be yet.

We do still have time with this as the Telkom changes only start in August and we'd prefer to take a bit longer to make sure we come up with the right solutions :)

I'm seriously considering moving to Afrihost for their 10mb Uncapped incl. Telkom line bundle for R897.
However I'm quite happy with Mweb and would like to stay. Are you guys gonna be offering something similar soon ?

Whats flying for you My news server is giving 300 KB now I can say last week or so its better Before June 1st it was horrible I was getting 80KB on my 4mb account.
I am never able to watch you tube more than 360P ,Forget 720P & 1080P.
If I switch to my Other ISP my downloads fly at constant 1MB/s You tube works even if I am downloading at full line speeds.I don't know what's wrong:confused:

Good Afternoon citizensa, 300KB not to bad on our news servers. When you say you are never able to watch at higher than 360p, what is your experience?

Understandably I'm on a 1Mb, but I can watch 360p without buffering 99% of the time. I get linespeed on nntp.
Your 300 KB/s on nntp isn't bad - it is shaped so it won't be 100% 24/7.
 
I'm not downloading anything and all the other computers on my home network are off. I've never had such slow speeds. I'm on 4MB shaped uncapped. My download speeds overnight averaged around 250KB/s when they're normally over 400KB/s. Is Mweb currently experiencing network problems or am I being throttled for high usage? My normal monthly usage is around 250GB, but thanks to Playstation Plus, Steam specials and what not my household has already cleared 300GB half way through this month.
