@ Mike43110 tracert to?

@ bradlesliect Somerset-West. I have a graph of my traffic and i peaks at 128Kbit/s

@MWEB - Are you sure about the routing process? Doesn't matter how long the connection disappears before all the routes still need to be propogated again? does this not cause strain on the core and gateway routers and this all the routes not need to flushed and re-advertised again to make sure it all propogates correctly?

What the the critical services? HTTP, POP3,SMTP? and are these to ALL your subscriber base or your A-list business clients first and then us?

we follow the same path, I am downloadins, so my ping is atrocious
post a speedtest and a pingtest to durban please

@mike

I used to have great for the first week or so after mweb launched the product but gradually it started it getting slower...sometimes downloads are 15-25kpbs and most times its 8-13kpbs...uploads are constant around 18kpbs... when i use my AH account everything is fine again

ditto usshin ....things appear to be ok now ....but lets see in the morning again? MWEB speed is now the same as I have with Axxess, AH and WA but then again these are all capped accs... does anyone know if mweb applies different routing policies and routing injections for the upcapped ADSL folk or are we all connecting to the same GW on mweb end?

So "oom" then apologize for been....well....rude?

@brad
call MWEB on tues and ask them to reset your account?
it can't be anything to do with amount downloaded as I have been going full blast for awhile now.
@usshin
The graphs show a peak of 128kbps, average of?
or is it average of 128?

both your speeds are far too slow, the shaping protocol isn't supposed to affect a person's connection like this.
According to MWEB you shouldn't expect dull line speed, but you two aren't even getting 50%.
Forum hounding unfortunately isn't going to help.
I suggest trying a restart of the router, checking if DNS settings are blank and if all of that has been done and it still is slow, then give up and sleep, tomorrow is another day, and you can at least call MWEB and try to solve the problem.
Remember, they want to keep you as a customer as they want to keep your money :P

mwweb flatlining at 128kbit. axxess account seemed to flatline at a bit higher around 256, (given that i have a 4mbit line neither are awesome)

128kbit on 4MEG account?!
Wow.....
restart router :D
all that makes sense.
axxess prepaid shouldn't have any issues

Thanks MWEb--I am planning to stay with MWEB, so charging ahead of time is acceptable to me; but, like brad said above, there may be other users who may want to cancel within month they joined, it may create a lot of unhappiness.

Thanks
S

Mwb Can you tell me I have always been using Openweb and I requested that they switch us to their uncapped option, does that mean that I am now running Mweb uncapped or do they have another service? Because I am getting terrible speeds especially for browsing and it seems like everyone is having no troubles with their Mweb accounts.
Thanks so much

It's not that they billed you double - they billed you for your first and last months. We're assuming that you will therefore be charged that amount on the 1st of May and then not be charged for your last month if/when you cancel. Dunno what happens if you never cancel :D

I hear there's new T&C, maybe it's to force you to stay at least 2 months, as there's rumors of a 100Gb cap all of a sudden. We were suckered again!

@Mika--I have scanned the T&C again and also gone through the FAQs. This is the only thing i could find
The terms and conditions seem strict. What's the catch?

No catch! But we are looking at our terms and conditions in case there are any misunderstandings. The terms and conditions cover all of our products , not just the uncapped ADSL products. You will find that they are completely in line with the terms and conditions offered by any other service provider. The product is genuinely uncapped and we do not intend to throttle, or penalize our customers in any way for using the product as it was intended. We are looking at revising some of the items in the terms and conditions that have been queried since the launch of the new products to clarify this.

Is this what you are referring to? Can MWEB (MWB) clarify?
