MWeb business ethics or the total lack of it shock me that I will never trust MWeb and will from this day go forth and tell anyone that show interest of how MWeb deceive and defraud their customers like me.

I accepted the July special from MWeb for R339pm all-inclusive. I was assured by MWeb that from the first of 1 August 2012 I will be on the R339 package. I then check My Account service from MWeb and it reflected the all-inclusive package. I was charged at the end of July up to the end of August the full amount R488 and correction will be done at the end August.

Not only did I pay for the service in advance but accepted R339 offer that was legal MWeb advertisement but even confirmed before I joined if MWeb has the right to change their mind and the consultant irritated that it was a valid campaign.

I could not understand why my line was so slow and checked the portal several times and I was on the R339 package and it is still reflects I am on all-inclusive 1MB package but MWeb has degraded my line to 384kb/s. This practice is unethical but fraud.

Hi ghunix,

Please could you see my reply to your Facebook post.

TBH, it just seems like a bit of a Kokup on mwebs side, I doubt they are trying to steal your R130..... Chat to mweb guy I'm sure he will sort you out... Companies and people make mistakes, give them a reasonable chance to fix the error before dragging the name through the mud.. Unfortunatly in some cases, it's a prerequisite to get them to respond!

Here is the Facebook post. Doesn't say much at this stage: http://www.facebook.com/MWEB/posts/478837748801940

I signed up for this special as well, not really a special but their new rates. what annoyed me is that after my account going active i called the call centre to query the slow speed and i was told that this is a 1mb ready line,384kbs till the telkom upgrades. what annoyed me is nowhere on their website did it state this and neither did the sales agent inform me of this.when i told this to the agent she said that it has now been changed,to late for me because i signed up before this.

I have escalated this to our specialists to investigate and contact you.

It is not about stealing R130 but about advertising a campaign and getting subscribers and not honouring their campaign.

MWeb ran a campaign pre-empting Telkom upgrades and made a commitment to their customers. I accepted the offer and then Telkom changed their mind and MWeb is now changing all the customers back to 384kb/s because Telkom changed is now only from 1st of October without their permission. I gave MWeb a chance to correct but does not want to wait for months.

They did not take me seriously now the only way is to expose their practices. I paid for the service in advance and behind the scenes they do what they like. Next step is to lodge a complain to the advertising authorities.

I have a similar situation, But being an existing Mweb client on 1mb all inclusive I decided when asked, to rather stay on the 1mb speed. To my dismay I now find out that my 1mb line that I have been paying for has been downgraded without my kowledge. Thid to keep inline with Telkom Line upgrades. So No I have to wait till the end of August for Telkom to upgrade 384k clients to 1mb (VERY UNCOOL MWEB, VERY UNCOOL) Unfortunately for me it was never explained that if I opt to stay on the 1mb all inclusive and not upgrade to the new 2mb package, my line would in the meantime be downgraded.....

come on Mweb, this is very unecceptable, and now even since I have already paid for my full month of enjoying a 1m line speed...

VERY UNHAPPY MWEB CLIENT, NOW CONSIDERING THE ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION........................
